Biography[]
Spirit Tortoise Arc[]
Kyo came from the same dimension as Glass did, which was also plagued by the Waves of Calamity. To defend his world, Kyo was chosen as the Vassal Book hero. Kyo was fascinated by the concept and looked for as many ways to improve his own skills. However, the Book saw much darkness in Kyo and frequently resisted Kyo's will, preventing him from using the Vassal Book to its full potential. Overtime, Kyo would learn of the Spirit Tortoise, one of four guardian beasts that could contain the Waves of Calamity. Fascinated by this, Kyo went to Melromarc and prematurely woke the titan. Ost Horai, the Spirit Tortoise's humanoid familiar, went to go find help as Kyo began to use its powers to send the various familiars out into the world.
Queen Melromarc tasked three of the four Cardinal Heroes of her world, Motoyasu, Itsuki, and Ren, to look into the rumors of the Tortoise's awakening, promising to return them home if they succeeded. Instead, the trio took their party members, bypassing the army and border patrols, foolishly believing they could stop it on their own. Instead, Kyo kidnapped the three Cardinal Heroes to be used as an additional power supply for the Spirit Tortoise. In the process, Ren's party was killed, while Motoyasu and Itsuki's remaining allies abandoned the heroes and fled.
Naofumi would work with the various kingdoms and their armies to fend off the Spirit Tortoise, eventually decapitating it. However, the Tortoise had incredible regenerative abilities, and began to heal from this, buying the alliance some time. Naofumi discovered a temple on the Spirit Tortoise's back where a previous hero left the notes behind that the Spirit Tortoise's head and heart must be destroyed at the same time. Giving this information to the Queen, Naofumi and his party went to the heart, meeting Kyo for the first time. Kyo would give Naofumi a hard time in battle with his multitude of skills. Fortunately, Glass, L'Arc, and Therese show up, with the intent of arresting Kyo for his crimes. Realizing he was on the verge of defeat, Kyo cast a force field and destroyed the core of the Spirit Tortoise, taking its energy as he went back to his home dimension. Glass and her group joined him, with Naofumi joining them after Ost gave up some of her power to strengthen Naofumi. Knowing he was being followed, Kyo cast a spell that separated the group. Kyo's attack also severally damaged the reputations of Motoyasu, Itsuki, and Ren, making them out to be the villains of the Spirit Tortoise attack.
Glass's World Arc[]
As Naofumi was focused on finding his friends, Kyo began to experiment with the energy he had stolen. Knowing of Albert, the Vassal Mirror Hero, who was bonded to the Spirit Tortoise, Kyo killed him, and stole the mirror for himself. Kyo also mutated the harem of Trash 2, a man who was killed by Raphtallia reluctantly, and turned them into bestial hybrids to kill Naofumi's group, including Kizuna, the last of his world's Cardinal Heroes.
Eventually, Naofumi and his group met up with Kyo and a final battle between them began. After Naofumi was able to disable Kyo's gravity spell, he switched to the Spirit Tortoise Shield, which not only took back the energy Kyo had stolen but also caused the Vassal Mirror to go to Naofumi instead. Kyo was severally beaten by Naofumi's next attack, with Rishia dealing the finishing blow.
