~ Hamura tormenting Higashi.

Kyohei Hamura is the secondary antagonist of the 2018 action-adventure game Judgment, a spin-off of the Like a Dragon franchise.

He's captain of the Matsugane Family, but due to his financial status, he essentially is in control of it. He commits atrocities in a deal he made with the serial killer known only as The Mole. He is also the arch-rival of both Takayuki Yagami and Masaharu Kaito.

He was originally voiced by Pierre Taki but was changed to Miou Tanaka due to Taki's drug charges. In English, he is voiced by Fred Tasticore, who also voiced AAARRRGGHH!!! in Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia, Kakuzu in Naruto: Shippuden, and Poseidon in the original God of War.

Appearance[]

Hamura is a tall, beefy man. He has an aged appearance and mostly black hair, although wisps of gray have begun to appear. He is incredibly well-dressed and is always seen wearing one of two outfits: his default outfit, which consists of a two-piece white suit and black dress shirt, crocodile-skin shoes, and a black belt with a gold button; and his gambling outfit, which is a white tracksuit with black and gold stripes running up the sleeves.

Personality[]

Hamura is a brutal and egotistical man who puts the growth of the Matsugane Family over human life. He is incredibly conniving and willing to do whatever it takes to destroy his opponents.

Biography[]

One day, Hamura was approached by the Mole, who formed an alliance with him to make hits for cash. His first target was Hakishi, vice director of the ADDC, who would later be found beaten to near death by a man in a black raincoat and eventually succumb to his injuries. The duo would eventually expand their alliance to help bring victims for Yoji Shono's AD-9 experiments.

He would be accused of murdering a member of a rival Yakuza group, but due to the superb lawyering of Masamichi Shintani and Takayuki Yagami, he was a free man. He tells Yagami not to dig any deeper. Yagami refuses, which prompts Hamura to take him into the alley behind Cafe Alps and beat him to near death, alongside fellow Matsugane Family member Homura Kengo. Yagami is saved by Fumiya Sugiura, which enrages Hamura enough to send Toru Higashi to destroy Yagami's office.

After the death of another Matsugane Family member, Yagami and Kaito, a former member of the family and sworn brother to Higashi, discover Hamura's secret hiding place: a cho-han parlor in the Champion District. The duo head to the parlor and battle Hamura for information. He is defeated, but his men burn the parlor down before information can be extracted. Yagami tries to draw Hamura out of his new hiding place, which results in Kaito getting shot and taken hostage. Yagami storms the Matsugane Family office and beats Hamura senseless. He frees Kaito and takes Hamura hostage so they can ask him questions, battling Kojiro Ozaki along the way. Hamura spills the beans, withholding only the name of the Mole. The Matsugane Family attempts to save him, but are murdered by the Mole, who sets his sights on Hamura. He almost kills him, but Matsugane himself sacrifices his life to save the captain. Hamura, aghast, finally tells Yagami the true identity of the Mole: Mitsuru Kuroiwa.

A few days later, Hamura provides some evidence to help prove the crimes committed by his former allies and exonerate Ayabe, and testifies in court, sealing his fate for the greater good.
