Lacey Maxwell
Lacey Maxwell is the main villainess of the episode "Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Piece" of the TV show Psych.
She was portrayed by Christine Chatelain, who also played Tempest Drake in Smallville.
Biography[]
Lacey Maxwell is the sister of Dylan Maxwell, who was set to marry his fiancé, Bethany Coleman. She also served as both the wedding planner and the maid of honor.
The triumvirate were met by Shawn Spencer regarding a valuable wedding ring (which belonged to Dylan and Lacey's grandmother) having gone missing, and while on the case, Shawn and Lacey developed a rapport and a date is set. However, Shawn (much to his dismay) figured out that Lacey was behind the theft of the ring.
Before the wedding, Dylan and Lacey's father, an Attorney General, presented the ring to Bethany. Lacey, who felt she was more deserving of the ring and was expected to get it, hatched a plan to steal the ring for herself, beginning with suggesting that it should be used during the wedding rehearsal.
After the rehearsal was done, the ring was set to be locked up again, but Lacey took that opportunity to steal it. However, she still had the ring in her possession while preparing the bouquets, so the villainess hid it inside one of them, with the plan to get it back later. This led to yet another snag in her plan: the bouquets were locked up.
Even worse for Lacey, Dietrich Mannheim caught her theft and threatened to report her to the police if he wasn't in on the action. During an argument in the kitchen, Lacey killed Dietrich with a blow to the head with a fire extinguisher, and stuffed his body inside a dumbwaiter.
Before the wedding, the bouquets were passed out, and Lacey panics when hers isn't there. Lacey reveals she is a magician when she helps to calm down the flower girl. After the murder, Lacey retrieved her bouquet, which had the ring in it. Shawn outed Lacey during the wedding, with the villainess responding that she deserved it for putting in all of the work for the wedding. Lacey attempted to escape, but she tripped and was eventually arrested.
