Ladon is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Hespera) of the 2023 DC Extended Universe superhero film Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the sequel to the 2019 film Shazam!.
He is a dragon who guards the Garden of the Hesperides and was summoned by the Daughters of Atlas to be their chief enforcer. It developed loyalty to Kalypso, becoming her right-hand and pet.
Biography[]
Shazam! Fury of the Gods[]
It was Kalypso's pet, the guardian of the Golden Apples of Hesperides and the chief enforcer of Kaylpso, as it wasn't really loyal to the other two sisters Anthea and Hespera. At first, Kalypso ordered the guards to throw Freddy Freeman and The Wizard into a dark pit, where under Kalypso's guidance it was supposed to eat them alive. However, Anthea helped them escape the creature's wrath.
It later sided with Kaylpso during the final battle, becoming her right-hand and personal assistant. It was going to kill Anthea and Freddy, but Shazam lored it along with Kalypso to a high spot in which Hespera would generate a force shield and trap Shazam and Kalypso. The dragon tried to fly out with Kalypso but it failed to escape with her.
It repeatedly spat fire onto Shazam, trying to kill him for it's master. However, it failed and eventually, Shazam killed it together with Kalypso.
Personality[]
The Ladon is known as the World Eater for a good reason. It was a sadistic and chaotic giant creature which served Kalypso at all costs and even chose her over her two sisters.
The Ladon is protective over the golden apples, but when becoming Kalypso's enforcer it subverts this trait and does everything it can to conquer Earth with her.
