Destiny cannot be undone, Sun Wukong!
~ Lady Bone Demon
I've seen the world suffer famine, disease, war, and endless turmoil. An eternity of needless pain. I thought if I helped someone with real power, guided you to be better, I could make a true difference in the world. But I now see the only true way to create the perfect world... is to start with a clean slate.
~ Lady Bone Demon revealing her new intentions after seeing how little an emperor from the mortal realm cared for his people and refused to put an end to imperfections
Lady Bone Demon: Know this, Monkey. You and I are not so different. We both fight for what we think is right. That pursuit only leads to one thing.
MK: Mhm. To destiny, right?
Lady Bone Demon: No. To pain.
~ Lady Bone Demon's last words.

The Lady Bone Demon is the main antagonist of the 2020 animated series Monkie Kid.

She is a spiritual demon who is bent on destroying and recreating the mortal realm so that it is free of flaws and can finally be "perfect." She is also the arch-enemy of MK and Monkey King.

She was voiced by Victoria Grace, who is known for voicing Pomegranate Cookie from Cookie Run Kingdom.

Personality[]

Lady Bone Demon is driven by a twisted desire to rid suffering from the mortal realm. However, her motivations are far from altruistic, as her goal is to create a perfect world according to her own standards. Lady Bone Demon exhibits a complex and paradoxical nature, showcasing a blend of contradictory traits in both her actions and beliefs. Her behavior towards others and the mortal realm stands is far worse than her opposition. She derives pleasure from causing suffering to those around her, demonstrating a sadistic inclination as she deems resistance to be futile. Furthermore, she displays a ruthless streak by eliminating her allies, except for the Mayor, once they have outlived their usefulness.

Her malevolence extends to the extent of issuing threats to the Monkey King and Macaque, to the extent that their existence would be erased from the world's collective memory. In her pursuit of eradicating suffering, Lady Bone Demon takes a dark and sinister path. Instead of employing benevolent methods, she transforms the entire planet into a desolate wasteland by crystallizing it, a process that even Red Son deems repulsive. Only then does she plan to recreate the mortal realm by engulfing it with the Samadhi Fire. This stark contrast between her purported intentions and her ruthless actions exposes her as a hypocritical being devoid of genuine concern for others.

Even when imprisoned by Tang Sanzang in an attempt to make her realize the error of her ways, Lady Bone Demon remains steadfast in her ideology. She refuses to reconsider her beliefs and remains unrepentant. Once freed, she becomes even more determined to extend her plan beyond the mortal realm, seeking to impose her will on the entire universe. Her primary motive for doing so is to eliminate any powerful beings that may hinder her quest. This unwavering commitment to her cause further underscores her single-mindedness and disregard for the well-being of others.

Moreover, Lady Bone Demon firmly believes that her goals are immutable, viewing herself as a mere instrument of destiny. She sees her actions as predestined and unchangeable. However, her confidence in this statement is fragile. This is shown when Monkey King, having defeated her in battle, stands poised to deliver the final blow. In desperation, Lady Bone Demon corrupted Monkey King, contradicting her belief that destiny cannot be altered. This inconsistency in her behavior raises doubts about the sincerity of her convictions and exposes the reliability of her unwavering faith in destiny.

Appearance[]

Lady Bone Demon has white skin, red eyes, and prominent cheekbones. Her hair is white, and a part of it's tied into a bun while the rest of it is straight and loose. She has magenta lips and a medium blue eye shadow. For clothing, she wears a black dress with purple around her waist, gray on the sides, and long white sleeves. She also has a white chest plate with one row of rib bones at the bottom, a gold half-circle at the center, and purple shoulder pads.

Biography[]

Past[]

Seeing the mortal realm and its people suffer for many years; the Lady Bone Demon sought to end it all by guiding a mortal emperor to be a better person for the world and his people, posing as a human advisor named Ivory Lady. As she advised the emperor, she saw how the ruler and his advisors didn't care for the innocent and their problems, infuriating her as she began to believe that the mortal realm itself couldn't make a difference, thus deciding to end all imperfections by destroying the mortal realm and remaking a new one in its place. Because of her presence, the emperor's Chief of War fell under the influence of Lady Bone Demon, who gave him some of her powers to enhance his capabilities, but at the cost of his humanity. Shortly after, she betrayed the emperor by beginning to wreak havoc in his kingdom, revealing her identity as Lady Bone Demon and ordering the Chief of War to kill the emperor after seeing that there was no use for him anymore.

Lady Bone Demon later resurrected Macaque, who died after losing a battle with Monkey King. She gave Macaque a magic key she intended for him to use to free her. As her plan to recreate the world only involved the mortal realm initially, Lady Bone Demon didn't expect immortal beings to come between her and her goal. This led to her being defeated by Monkey King. Although Monkey King wanted to destroy her because of her callous acts, Tang Sanzang insisted on having the Bone Demon locked up until she could learn the error of her ways, but she never did. Because the key was abandoned by Macaque, Lady Bone Demon remained imprisoned in the tomb for thousands of years.

Season 1[]

One week after the Demon Bull King was freed from his prison, the Demon Bull Family discovered Lady Bone Demon's tomb, mistaking that the Bone Demon was an ancient power source that they could use for their plans to takeover Megapolis. The Bull Clones spent weeks digging up the tomb until they fully uncovered it, leaving the Skeleton Key the only thing left to free Lady Bone Demon.

The Demon Bull Family managed to steal the key from MK and unlocked the tomb, discovering that all was inside were piles of bones. Lady Bone Demon's spirit then possessed the Demon Bull King and the dormant Bull Clones, empowering them as they used the Bone Demon's energy to take over Megapolis while MK was away. Over time, Lady Bone Demon turned the Demon Bull King against Princess Iron Fan and Red Son. As MK arrived, Lady Bone Demon made D.B.K. attack him until Princess Iron Fan and Red Son interfered, allowing MK to free D.B.K. from Lady Bone Demon's control. However, Lady Bone Demon escaped, roaming Megapolis until she possessed a little girl to become her new host.

Season 2[]

As the citizens of Megapolis celebrated New Year's, Lady Bone Demon, using her host's body as a disguise, came to serve the Spider Queen to help her conquer the mortal realm, saying that as she does, she is able to destroy the Monkey King, something that the Jade Emperor himself couldn't pull off. By using a magic potion, Lady Bone Demon was to solve Spider Queen's problem with her venom, allowing her to turn the citizens into spider zombies. Together, Lady Bone Demon and Spider Queen were able to take over the city with an army of Spider-Bots, even going as far as to capture several demons and Monkey King to power the spider mech, which would drain the captives' life energy until death.

During the final battle, Lady Bone Demon confronted Monkey King alone as the captives were freed, provoking him about her plan as she showed him a recurring vision that she had long ago, which had her destroying the mortal realm with a mech empowered by the Samadhi Fire. Lady Bone Demon then left to get the Trigram Furnace, the first step to creating the bone mech.

After New Year's, the Spider Demons began gathering powerful artifacts that Lady Bone Demon required. One day, MK would meet Lady Bone Demon when he got lost in the Spider Queen's lair. Lady Bone Demon tricked MK into thinking that she was a little girl that got lost, but was able to help him stop Spider Queen. Her cover was blown when MK recognized her as the one who corrupted the Demon Bull King and helped Spider Queen. Lady Bone Demon tormented MK into thinking that Monkey King's absence was because he regretted about choosing MK as his successor. She prepared to finish him off, but she was stopped by Spider Queen, allowing MK to escape. She would later have the Mayor kidnap Macaque and take the magic lantern for her.

As the creation of the bone mech was nearly completed, Lady Bone Demon had the Mayor kill Spider Queen's henchmen since they were no longer of any use to her. Lady Bone Demon then fought Spider Queen head-on as she used the spirits of the Queen's henchmen to attack her. After defeating Spider Queen, Lady Bone Demon used her as the final ingredient to create the bone mech, which she used to battle MK and drained all of his powers. Lady Bone Demon prepared to finish MK until Monkey King returned. Realizing that they were outmatched, Monkey King and the Monkie Kids had to retreat, allowing Lady Bone Demon to take possession of the Golden Staff and covered the entire city with her Bone Demon powers.

Season 3[]

Not long after, Lady Bone Demon would have the Mayor bring Macaque to her, reprimanding him for the abandonment of the key she gave him. To make up for the mistake, she ordered Macaque to kidnap Monkey King and MK for her. Otherwise, she would personally kill him. When the heroes successfully retrieved all the Rings of Samadhi, Lady Bone Demon would confront Macaque and prepared to kill him. But she stopped as Macaque brought up the Samadhi Fire, which the Monkie Kids planned to use against her. Intrigued, Lady Bone Demon gives Macaque another chance as she bestowed him some of her powers, which would slowly kill him until he succeeded in getting the fire.

After the Samadhi Fire was reforged, Lady Bone Demon fought Monkey King in an intense battle, which resulted in her host's body slowly cracking since she extended her powers. Not wanting to lose like last time, Lady Bone Demon stripped the Mayor's powers and used them to possess Monkey King, corrupting him the same way she did with the Demon Bull King from before. With Monkey King corrupted, Lady Bone Demon successfully obtained the fire by kidnapping Mei, placing her inside the bone mech's crystal as she taunted her to give up the fire.

However, because Monkey King was corrupted, Lady Bone Demon wasn't able to activate the mech, thus rendering it useless. Lady Bone Demon was met with MK as Macaque stalled Monkey King. She questioned MK how he is able to defeat her if Monkey King couldn’t, only for MK to retort about the Bone Demon and destiny, stating that she shouldn't even be taking control of Monkey King in the first as she believes that destiny can't be changed. This led to Monkey King being free of the corruption, but also allowing Lady Bone Demon to use the bone mech once more.

Lady Bone Demon assumed to her true form by freeing the little girl from her possession and ignited the bone mech with the Samadhi Fire. Before she could actually use it to recreate the universe, MK was able to hold her off with the Monkey Mech, which was strengthened by the powers of his friends. Lady Bone Demon continued to push forward until Mei successfully harnessed the fire as Tang freed everyone who was trapped by Lady Bone Demon's crystals.

As the heroes and their allies' energy united, Lady Bone Demon watched in shock as the Monkey Mech summoned a large Golden Staff, being used to destroy the bone mech as she was killed. In her final moments, Lady Bone Demon accepted her demise, not wanting to hear any of MK's hero speeches. She soon compared MK to herself, warning him that his actions will result in pain for both himself and others, before fading away.
