~ Lady Waltham, showcasing her first few signs of remorse as she gives Tarzan the antidote for the poison she gave to him beforehand. |
Lady Waltham is a former supporting antagonist in The Legend of Tarzan, specifically in the episode "Tarzan and the Gaunlet of Vengeance". She is an aristocratic lady and the younger sister of the deceased Clayton who wants revenge on Tarzan for killing her brother - at least, that's what she thought of in the first place.
She was voiced by Amanda Donohoe.
Biography[]
As a misguided form of vengeance for the death of her brother Clayton, Lady Waltham devised a plan with her valet Hobson to locate Tarzan, whom she thought was the one who killed her brother.
After finding Tarzan, she then had Hobson capture those close to Tarzan, and later poisoned Tarzan himself. Tarzan was then given a challenge by Lady Waltham which was either save those he is close to from danger or head to a mountain she dubbed "Clayton's Peak" where the antidote is, when really, it's in her own hands. While Tarzan managed to save his friends and family, he then ended up saving Lady Waltham from the two black leopards named Nuru and Sheeta, as well, despite slowly succumbing into the poison's effects. Knowing this, she later gave Tarzan the antidote as he's about to lose his life, and later realized that her didn't actually "kill" her brother, feeling truly remorseful about her criminal actions towards him and his companions, to which they decided to forgive her for that, especially Tarzan himself.
It is unknown what has happened to Lady Waltham afterwards and hearing about Clayton's true nature from Tarzan, though it may be presumed that she left the jungle with Hobson to continue on with her life and move onto better things like beginning new adventures of what comes next for her.
Trivia[]
- Ironically, her vengeful actions throughout her appearance almost lead her into having a fate that's eerily similar to that from her older brother Clayton's, where she would've potentially lost her life from her ignorance that was influenced by her misguided grudge against Tarzan. Thankfully for her, this didn't happen because of her eventual redemption.
