~ Lance lying to Chuck McGill about not seeing Jimmy. |
Lance is a minor character in the crime drama series Better Call Saul. He is a cashier at the Valliant Printing copy shop who Jimmy McGill bribes to cover his tracks.
He was portrayed by Elisha Yaffe.
History[]
Lance works a graveyard shift at Valliant Printing. Jimmy comes into the shop one night and asks Lance to provide him with some supplies, which Jimmy uses to alter the Mesa Verde files concerning the address of the bank's proposed new branch.
When Jimmy realizes that Lance could implicate him in forging the documents, he returns to the copy shop. As he pulls up, he sees Ernesto showing a picture of him to Lance and asking if he was in the store on the other night. Lance tells him Jimmy was there. After Ernie leaves, Jimmy approaches Lance. He explains that his brother Chuck will be coming to confirm that he was here and offers Lance money to lie for him. Lance is reluctant at first, concerned he would get in trouble with the police, but accepts the bribe when Jimmy assures him that he will not. Lance also erases the security footage from the surveillance cameras for an additional $200.
Shortly after, Ernesto returns with Chuck. Once again, Chuck shows Lance the photo of Jimmy and asks if he was in the shop. Lance pretends not to recognize Jimmy and denies he saw him, although Chuck can tell he is lying and continues to hassle him. When a customer asks Lance about a printing matter, he goes to help her and tells Ernesto to remove Chuck from the store or he would call the police. Chuck follows Lance, but collapses from his electromagnetic hypersensitivity. As Ernesto and Lance gather around to help him, Jimmy rushes inside the shop and orders Lance to call an ambulance.
