Langwidere, is one of the two main antagonists (alongside General Guph) of the series Lost in Oz. She serves as the main antagonist of the first season of the series. She's the great granddaughter of the Wicked Witch of the West, and great, great niece of the Wicked Witch of the East.

She was voiced by Gina Gershon.

Biography[]

Glinda brought the Gales and the familyline of the original Wicked Witches together, (making Evelyn Gale and Cyra friends) but Langwidre never forgives Glinda for her decision of peace, her older sister Cyra and Evelynn Gale (granddaughter of Dorothy) being friends, and the original Dorothy Gale for dropping the house on her great, great aunt and melting her great grandmother, so she plots to take over Oz and avenge the Witches of the East and West's legacy, with the help of her apprentice Fitz. Langwidere joins forces with the Nomes and imprisoned Glinda in a painting.

When Dorothy II (great granddaughter of Dorothy I) came to Oz and keeps interfering with Fitz's plan, Langwidere remembered that she's a Gale, so she ordered Fitz to get rid of her. She then gained Dorothy's trust by rescuing Toto, and revealed to West (great, great granddaughter of the Wicked Witch of the West) that she's her aunt.

When West brings her the Pearl of Pingaree, she takes West's conference so she would unknowingly test her skills. She then tells her that she would teach her ways of magic.

As she disguise as Glinda, she asks Dorothy and her friends to bring all the magic that was stolen by the Nomes to her and promised Dorothy that she would send her home to Kansas.

When Dorothy returns with the stolen magic, Glinda reveals her true form as Langwidere. She told Dorothy that her family destroyed hers (meaning Dorothy II destroyed the Wicked Witches of the East and West) and she seeks vengeance ever since, then she imprisoned Dorothy the way she did to Glinda.

She uses the Pearl of Pingaree and a forgetting machine to make the Emerald City and all of Oz to forget all about Glinda and the Gales, and remembering that her great grandmother and great, great aunt were always the ruling witches in Oz. And they all see her as their ruling witch of Oz.

When Dororthy and Glinda escapes the paintings, Langwidere makes a new spell, making everyone think that the Good Witch and Dorothy are fugitives of the law of Oz.

Dorothy and her friends challenges Langwidere to battle, then West joins them. West's connection and friendship with Dorothy gives her control of her power (powers of her great, great granddmother) and defeats Langwidere.

In shock of West's power, Langwidere falls on a portal and transferred in a painting Smith made to keep her from hurting everyone. Langwidere ends up trapped in the painting forever.

Trivia[]

  • Langwidere is named after Princess Langwidere for an unknown reason.
