Larhalt is a minor antagonist in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. He is a member of the Dragon Riders and is the Land Fighter.
In the 2020 anime, he was voiced by Akira Ishida in Japanese and Scott Roberts in English.
Personality[]
Larhalt has an hatred towards humans, due to being a hybrid of human and demon when Hadlar was attempting to take over the world, and due to this, he and his mother were cast away from humanity. Larhalt is also a fighter with a great honor, as he is even willing to kill comrades that use dirty tricks.
Biography[]
Larhalt is a hybrid of human and demon. When Hadlar was fighting a war against the humans, Larhalt and his mother were persecuted by humans. Eventually, Larhalt's mother died of illness, and Larhalt then met Baran, and he eventually become a member of the Dragon Riders.
At some point, Baran summoned the Dragon Riders to help him to claim Dai, and Larhalt brought Baran a dragon for him to ride. When they were on their way to the Teran Kingdom, they were ambushed by Pop, who killed their dragons with a gravity spell. Larhalt then watched the other two Dragon Riders, Galdandy and Borahorn, battling Pop and Hyunckel before being defeated. Then, after Borahorn's defeat, Larhalt fought Hyunckel and revealed that he had the Magic Armour Spear, much to Hyunckel's horror. He then used Amudo to cover himself in armor and overwhelmed Hyunckel with his speed. During their battle, Larhalt told Hyunckel about Baran's past.
Eventually, Larhalt destroyed Hyunckel's armor. Without his armor, Hyunckel was able to dodge Larhalt's attack. In the end, Larhalt tried to finish off Hyunckel by attacking him from above, but his spear landed on Hyunckel's chain, forming a cross. Larhalt was then defeated by the Grand Cross technique. However, it was soon revealed that Borahorn survived and tried to use Pop as a hostage to kill Hyunckel, and displeased by Borahorn's dishonorable actions, Larhalt killed him with his spear. After giving Hyunckel his spear, Larhalt succumbed to his injuries.
Eventually, Baran resurrected Larhalt and told him to serve Dai, but he later saved Hyunckel and Hym from Maximum on Vearn's Palace, beginning his redemption.
