Lasombra's Pirates are the secondary antagonists of the 2017 Nickelodeon made-for-television film Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie, which serves as the finale to the original series.
They are the henchmen of Lasombra who helped him get Arnold by luring him and his class into his trap in San Lorenzo. Their main goal is to help their leader into finding the Corazón from the Green-Eyed People for the sake of fortune.
They were voiced by Lane Toran and Jamil Walker Smith.[1]
Biography[]
Lasombra's pirates first appeared when Lasombra, under the guise of Eduardo, had Arnold and his classmates from P.S. 118 follow him to their Base Camp hideout. There, "Eduardo" revealed to the kids that he is not actually Eduardo, but is in fact the infamous pirate known as Lasombra. He claimed the class, along with Mr. Simmons and Olga, as his prisoners and will remain as such until Arnold reveals the location of the Corazón much to everyone's horror.
By nightfall, Arnold, Gerald, and Helga staged a breakout and fought past the pirates as they escaped from Base Camp. They first dealt with a sleeping guard and snatched from him the keys to their cells, but they were quickly detected by the other guards. During the scuffle, another guard unintentionally opened the gate to their hideout, allowing the trio to make their getaway. Later, the guard who fell asleep was seen talking to Lasombra, acknowledging his failure in stopping Arnold and begging him for forgiveness. An amused Lasombra brushed it off and said that he planned to let Arnold escape, revealing that he planted a tracking device on Arnold which would direct him to the location of the Green-Eyes and the Corazón.
The next day, Lasombra and a select crew of pirates set off in search for the Corazón, while the rest remained at Base Camp to keep an eye on their prisoners. During the hunt, Lasombra's crew faced a series of booby traps impending their progress. Lasombra took a step and activated the first one: arrows flying at their direction. Grabbing one of his men, Lasombra used the guard as his human shield against the arrows, killing him. Marching forward, Lasombra forces another pirate to go through a door, suspecting another trap. The pirate moved forward and fell through the ground, falling to his death. Later, the crew come across a tunnel, and Lasombra tricked them into entering the passageway. The pirates ran through the tunnel, activating the trap and releasing the boulders which then crushed the pirates to their deaths, leaving Lasombra as the sole survivor of the crew.
Back at Base Camp, a melee ensued as the hostages revolted against their captors. During the struggle, Big Bob Pataki, his wife Miriam, and Arnold's grandparents entered the fray, joining up with the kids and eventually overwhelming the pirate guards for their freedom.
