Lau Ka Long, later known as Chau Ka Long, is a supporting character in the Like a Dragon franchise.
He is the head of the Snake Flower Triad, a Chinese crime group that is known to practice harsh torture on its prisoners. One of his victims included Kazuma Kiryu, holding him hostage and torturing him until he was recused by Shintaro Kazama.
In Japanese, he was voiced by Shinichi Takizawa in the original Yakuza and Yakuza 3, and by Ryuta Morikawa in Yakuza Kiwami. He was then voiced by Hiroki Goto. In the English dub of Yakuza, he was voiced by James Horan, who also voiced Skull Face in Metal Gear Solid V, President Shinra in Final Fantasy VII Remake, Future Guy in Star Trek: Enterprise, Scar in Kingdom Hearts II, and Ultron in Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Following Yakuza: Like A Dragon, he is voiced by Johnny Young Bosch.

Background[]
Lau La Kong is known to have held Kazuma Kiryu hostage between the events of Yakuza 0 and Yakuza/Yakuza Kiwami, where he had his underlings torture him with needles and knives. However, Kiryu was rescued by Shintaro Kazama.
Yakuza/Yakuza Kiwami[]
Lau La Kong is paid by Futoshi Shimano to kidnap Haruka Sawamura and obtain her pendant.
Kiryu arrives to rescue her and finds Lau Ka Long with Haruka tied up. Kiryu bests Long in combat and frees Haruka.
Yakuza 3[]
In order to get revenge on Kiryu for besting the Snake Flower Triad, Lau La Kong kidnaps Kiryu's friend Rikiya. Kiryu turns up to save him and gets into a fight with Long and once again bests him. Kong then reveals that he kidnapped Rikkiya so that he could murder him as revenge on Kiryu. Shintaro Kazama's twin brother then turns up and shoots Long dead before he can commit the murder.
Lau Ka Long would survive this encounter and flee, changing his name to Chau Ka Long and becoming an underground weapons dealer.
