The Lead Samurai is a minor villain in the second season of the TV show DC's Legend of Tomorrow. He is a henchman of shogun Tokugawa Iemitsu.
History[]
When Ray Palmer crash-lands in his time period, the Lead Samurai captures him and brings him to the shogun. The shogun claims Ray's armor for himself.
The Lead Samurai and two other samurai are then dispached by the shogun to see if his betrothed has been bothered by any other intruders. When they arrive there, they find Nate Heywood. Nate, who has recently developed the ability to turn his skin into metal, arrogantly insults the samurai, eventually causing the Lead Samurai to attack him. To his surprise, Nate is unable to turn into metal and is first kicked to the ground, then impaled by the Lead Samurai's sword. The three samurai then leave.
Returning to his master, the lead samurai is ordered to fight Sara Lance, who has come to save Ray. The Lead samurai engages Sara and is able to slowly overpower her by sheer strength. Vixen intervenes, knocking the Lead Samurai backwards and knocking him out.
When the shogun and his men later arrive at the village to retrieve his bride, he finds the villagers gone and Nate opposing him. The shogun sends the Lead Samurai and his men to find his bride, ordering him to kill all other villagers. On his way to the temple, the men are confronted by Sara Lance. Deeming her unworthy, the Lead Samurais sends his men to kill her. Sara defeats many of his men and is eventually joined by Vixen. The two women offer the samurai the chance to flee but non attempts to do so. After all his men have been defeated, the Lead Samurai draws his sword. He engages Sara in battle but is immediately slain by her with a hidden knife.
