The Leafy Blinders are the antagonists of the 2019 Aldi Christmas advert. Their leader is Russell Sprout.
Biography[]
The Leafy Blinders kidnap Kevin the Carrot due to him replacing them as the main focus at Christmas. They tie Kevin to a grater and throw a tomato called Tiny Tom at him. Tiny Tom frees Kevin and they run away to a big top. Kevin the Carrot puts Russell Sprout in a cannon and gives him a large gold star before firing him upwards, impaling the star through the top of the large tent with Russell hanging from it. The rest of the Leafy Blinders have redeemed themselves by the end of the advert and can be seen dancing with Tiny Tom.
Appearance[]
The Leafy Blinders are green anthropomorphic Brussels sprouts. All of them at the start of the advert are hatted in the style of the early 20th-century gangsters in popular BBC show Peaky Blinders from which their name also comes from.
