General Lee Hyun-kyun (Korean: 이현균/ihyeongyun) is the secondary antagonist of the 2022 South Korean Netflix action comedy film Seoul Vibe.

He is a corrupt military official and the right-hand man of Kang In-sook who executes anyone needed to keep his corruption hidden at all costs.

He is portrayed by Kim Sung-kyun.

Biography[]

During the build-up to the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, Park Dong-wook and his eclectic team of mechanics and drivers, including Oh Woo-sam, Bok-nam, Park Yoon-hee, and Joon-ki, are enlisted by prosecutor Ahn Pyung-wook to cozy up to General Lee Hyun-kyun and Chairwoman Kang In-sook. Their mission: extract information about a secret government fund. After completing deliveries for Kang, Dong-wook's crew is roped into working directly for her.

Tensions rise as Lee's aggressive actions force Dong-wook to seemingly part ways with his team, especially Woo-sam, who possesses the key imprint to the room holding crucial documents. Lee eventually uncovers their identities, capturing and torturing Woo-sam while Dong-wook and the others narrowly escape. To complicate matters, they discover Ahn murdered, with them framed for the crime.

Cornered, Dong-wook retreats to gather evidence, listening to a mixtape that turns out to be a recording of Kang and corrupt officials plotting to frame Lee for the secret funds, while they abscond with the money abroad. Dong-wook strikes a deal with Lee to bring down Kang for a modest sum before authorities apprehend him.

Enlisting his racing rival Galchi and allies, Dong-wook devises a plan to expose Kang and Lee, culminating in a high-stakes chase where Lee meets his demise in a car accident, evading arrest. Boarding Kang's plane with evidence in hand, Dong-wook confronts her, leading to a tense standoff resolved by a clever use of his car's spoiler and a daring parachute escape.

With Kang arrested for corruption, Dong-wook and his team seize a portion of the illicit funds as a reward for their efforts, planning their next move—to "upgrade" themselves before heading to Los Angeles.
