These twentieth century games are outstanding, they're like primitive! I'm so bored with the new games. Holographics and all of that. It's why lately I've been hooked on this old-school stuff. It's like bank, you know? But, I'm totally into it. Back then, this was all you needed. 2D graphics and five buttons. Same deal with hackers. You can hack into major systems in a heartbeat. Take Captain Crunch... Broke into the national phone system with a plastic whistle! Took him straight into the history books! But these days, we're dealing with micro pulse protection systems. It's harsh man, that's why I owe you big time for making this happen. Seriously, I had to try it out just once: Being a real terrorist on me!
~ Lee Sampson on his terroristic ideals.
Happy Halloween! Trick or Treat! I'm so tiny that no one can find, so great that no one can see. But you are all made of me to the marrow.
~ Lee's message to Mars, foreshadowing Vincent Volaju's plans.

Lee Sampson is the secondary antagonist of the Cowboy Bebop movie Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door. He is a teenage hacker who is one of the accomplices of Vincent Volaju, who aids his plan of eliminating all life on Mars in hopes of going down in history as an infamous Terrorist.

He was voiced by Yuji Ueda in Japanese and Dave Wittenberg in English. The latter also voiced Kefka Palazzo in Final Fantasy VI.

History[]

Lee Sampson was a teenager from Mars who is fond of 20th-century video games, and often playing them, such as Sporky Dorky. He also had a criminal record of hacking and counterfeiting. In 2071, Sampson was contacted by Vincent Volaju, which gave him the opportunity to become a terrorist. He then helped Vincent in hacking the system on Mars, planning to release an nano-virus on the population of Mars, in order to decimate all life in here.

He was wanted by the authorities, and Faye Valentine decided to go after him herself. He was later pursued by Faye who found Lee in an arcade, who then fires her pistol at the game where he was playing and planning to take him in, Lee, saddened by which he never got to Meet Sporky Dorky slams his light gun in frustration, in response, he shuts down the electricity as a distraction to get away, leaving behind his cap. Some time later, Sampson counts down as he broadcasts his message towards the whole world, a riddle to elaborate Vincent's Halloween party attack, as he looked into his watch after the premiere as he walks away grinning. Ed and Ein would then track Sampson down to an apartment where he and Vincent were staying. When Sampson got there, he was double-crossed by Vincent, who shot one of the capsule of nano-bots in the table against Lee, a moment when Lee thought Vincent had fooled him, however the Nano-bots quicky infected Lee as he grabs his throat, grasping for air, Vincent then leaves Sampson violently trying to open and finally smashing his head and breaking the window which Faye happens to notice outside the apartment. Just when Faye entered the room, Lee slowly approaches her, mentioning that he didn't get enough points on Sporky Dorky as he planned to, he then collapses to the ground and smashes his glasses, Faye then tries to wake Lee to get answers, only for him muttering to Faye to press his "reset button" in his last breath before finally dying.
