Biography
The episode begins with the Eds along with Rolf, Johnny, and Plank receiving training under Kevin's guidance in preparation for the football tournament between the Peach Creek Cobblers and the visiting Lemon Brook Lumpers. However, the team doesn't make any progress due to their incompetence and lack of care (in Eddy's case). Suddenly the Kanker Sisters appear from the stage to harass the Cobblers (including the Eds) by throw stuff at them, until Ed's buffoonish antics where able to knock the Kankers away. The team was so impressed by this, that the cheerleaders decide to make Ed the mascot of the Peach Creek Cobblers in secret. The Eds then return home to eat dinner before the tournament, until Ed arrives, silent and unwilling to talk to anyone. Eddy tries to coerce Ed into into talking, but Ed yells that it's a big secret by Nazz. His loud yelling causes the clock to fall over as the Eds realize that they are late for the tournament. Ed, in a panic retreats into the kitchen sink pipeline claiming it to be a "shower", much to Double D and Eddy's confusion. Later the teams begin their square-off, with the large hulking Lemon Brook Lumpers towering over the ill prepared quivering Peach Creek Cobblers. It is here that Ed reveals himself as the Peach Creek Cobbler mascot. much to Eddy's jealousy, he attempts to compete with Ed over title of mascot, leaving his team post empty. The match begins with Lumpers clearly winning, due to their sheer strength and coordination. With Eddy ditching the team, and the lack of competence from the rest of the team mates, the Peach Creek Cobblers loose by 0 to 62. The team then returns to the locker room, bruised, battered, and utterly humiliated. Ed tries to lift the team's spirits, but Kevin angrily slams a shoe into Ed's face, telling him to "end it, now!" Double D on the other hand, appreciates Ed's enthusiasm, but is concerned over Eddy's absence. Ed reveals that Eddy has been chosen to become the new mascot for the Lemon Brook Lumpers. A bus is then seen driving away with Eddy strapped on the back with lemons shoved thru his mouth. Double D tries to rescue Eddy but is too slow to catch up, as Ed bids Eddy farewell on his unwilling trek to the mascot convention, as the bus drives away with Eddy screaming in fear. While it is unknown how Eddy escaped from the Lemon Brook Lumpers, it is revealed in the Big Picture Show Movie that Eddy now holds great resentment toward Lumpers for abusing him.
Trivia
According to head writer Rachel Connor, the name Lemon Brook is a homage to the English soap opera called "Brookside."
Eddy's abduction and abuse at the hands of the Lumpers is a reference to major rivalries between school teams, most notably in high schools and colleges.
