Citizens of the world, may I have your f###ing pathetic attention. DedSec, DedSec (laughter) Is a bunch of losers spamming your newsfeed. They pretend to be the saviors of your free will. When really... They're just some script-kiddies who want desperately to be popular. It all stops now. I, am going to teach DedSec a lesson. And DedSec... if you think I won't... or can't destroy your system. (Laughter) Well. Then. Please allow me to introduce myself (Laughter).
~ Lenni after hacking into DedSec's systems.
I hate you f***s. And you know why? The propaganda vids, the graffiti, the anti-whatever, do-gooder bullshit. You assholes take yourselves so f***ing seriously.
~ Lenni's reason for hating DedSec.

Lenora Kastner, better known as Lenni, is one of the two secondary antagonists of the 2016 video game Watch Dogs 2 (alongside Mary Catskill) and a major character in its DLC expansion Human Conditions.

She is the leader of Prime_Eight, a hacker group that opposes DedSec.

She was voiced by Ashlie Atkinson.

Biography[]

Past[]

Lenni grew up in a tough neighbourhood called Hunter's Point, but managed to pull her grades and finances up together to get into Stanford University on a scholarship. Lenni never graduated however, as she busted on campus for possession of marijuana. She still had friends and followers however, who got her into areas of Stanford where she wasn't allowed. Lenni later became infamous for making a hackerspace in the CompSci basement of Stanford University, turning one of the most reputable places in San Franciso into a hideout for deplorables, scum and misfits. It was here where the hacker group Prime_Eight was born, out of the desire to cleave together students who were on the outskirts of popularity.

Watch Dogs 2[]

Lenni first appears when Dušan Nemec offers her a large amount of money in exchange for information about DedSec, to which Lenni happily agrees. Lenni and Prime_Eight later hack into DedSec's system and lock them out of their servers, while also leaving trolling cats and leaving a video of herself mocking them. Marcus Holloway meets her and asks nicely for the key back, but Lenni insults him and demands that DedSec make a video shaming themselves.

Instead, Marcus destroys a bunch of skimmed ATM's owned by the biker gang Sons of Ragnarok, which in turn cripples Lenni and Prime_Eight's business with the gang. Lenni calls Marcus annoyed, and the two later meet again, where Marcus tries to scan her RFID implant. Lenni notices this and backs away from him, but Marcus had successfully scanned it.

Marcus then infiltrates the Prime_Eight bunker, but Lenni activates the protocol "Bunker Boom" which rigs the bunker to explode. Thankfully, Marcus disables the explosives, recovers the ransomware key and DedSec claims the bunker as their own, much to Lenni's annoyance and dismay.

Human Conditions DLC[]

Lenni appears again in the Human Conditions DLC, where she forms an unlikely alliance with Marcus in order to investigate nanotech usage by a company called RenSense. While Marcus wishes to investigate the death spike that this has caused in the homeless population, Lenni is solely interested in the nanotech.

When meeting again, Lenni is adored by Josh and tries to pinch his cheeks only for the latter to move away. Lenni and Marcus infiltrate RenSense and after the former hacks his way in, Lenni laughs and abandons Marcus to find the nanotech. Marcus proceeds however to destroy all the research due to RenSense illegally experimenting on the homeless and killing them. Lenni manages to sneak away with some nanotech, but Josh convinces her to show him. Josh then discreetly uses his phone to render the nanotech useless, much to Marcus' delight.

Personality[]

According to the main website of Watch Dogs 2, Lenni is caustic, abrasive, fearless, and works with various street gangs to bring down DedSec.

Lenni is notable for being irritating and annoying towards those she dislikes, with DedSec being a primary example. Unlike DedSec, Lenni is extremely keen to take advantage of anything that benefits her. According to Sitara, Lenni and Prime_Eight will sell zero-day exploits to anyone who can pay them, including the government and even terrorists.

Lenni shows a more passionate side in the Human Conditions DLC, as she admires nanotech and the potential it could have for humankind, as well as expressing frustration towards Marcus for destroying it all. Although it's entirely possible that she just wanted to sell the nanotech for her own profit.

Lenni also showed a likeness for Josh Sauchak after seeing him for the first time, she says that he's "the cutest thing" and like a puppy. According to Lenni, Josh reminds her of someone she used to know.

Trivia[]

  • It is indicated that Lenni is bisexual.
  • The bionic implant in Lenni's arm is a reference to biohacking, as well as a nod towards Tim Cannon, who has a similar implant in his arm.
  • Lenni's insane and annoying laughter and personality made her disliked amongst fans of the game.
