A member of the Locos gang, Hernandez accompanied the gang's leader Julio Benes to retrieve an ex-member named Nick from the auto repair shop owned by Brother Sam Wright. Sam refused to let Nick go and things got violent, with Dexter Morgan clubbing Hernandez with a baseball bat and Benes pulling a gun on Sam before Dexter drove him away by telling him he worked for Miami Metro Homicide. Later, Hernandez became the new leader of the Locos after Dexter killed Benes.
Just Let Go[]
Dexter suspected that Hernandez was the murderer of Brother Sam and followed him to his house with the intent of killing him like he did to Benes. However, Detective Mike Anderson suspected Hernandez of being the shot caller for the Locos after interrogating a random junkie on the streets. Anderson and some other cops showed up at Hernandez's house while Dexter was waiting in his car. Hernandez didn't want to be arrested and started shooting at them, but was immediately shot and killed.
After examining the evidence, Dexter realized that Nick had killed Brother Sam. This was confirmed by Brother Sam's dying words and by Nick himself, who claimed that Hernandez had told him to do it to prove he had what it took to rejoin the Locos.
