Leon Czolgosz, based on the real anarchist that shoot President William McKinley.He's one out of the nine protagonist from the stage musical, Assassins by John Weidman with music by Stephen Sondheim, and is one out of four assassins that successfully assassinated a president.

Biography[]

Background[]

Leon F. Czolgosz was born on May 5th, 1873 in Detroit Michigan to a polish immigrant family. From an early age of ten, he worked in the child labor industry. Moving to states to state, working in a glass factory. During the Panic of 1893, he found closure with the Catholic church and begins to join the Anarchist ideology. One sources of inspiration for Czolgosz, was fellow anarchist, Emma Goldman. Which they had a few interaction and he'll often listen to her speeches to encourage his Anarchist ideology even further.

Assassins[]

Along side various other assassins from United States History, he met the Proprietor which sold the gun that he'll shoot his respective president with. He'll sing his further intention with the gun in the notable "Gun Song" along side two other successful assassins (John Wilkes Booth (Assassins) and Charles J. Guiteau (Assassins)) and Sara Jane Moore. After Sam Byck attempted assassination with President Nixon, he'll sing the end-goal with his assassination only to be reveal his legacy hasn't affected the working class. To help aid his legacy to be not be forgetten, he'll help Booth to convince Lee Harvey Oswald to assassinate President JFK.

Assassination of McKinley[]

After being inspired by Emma Goldman's speech, he plans to shoot President McKinley in the Temple of Music at Buffalo, New York. President McKinley was visiting the Pan-American Exposition in-hope of spreading inspiration of American imperialisms. In the crowd, Czolgosz managed to get closer to President McKinley in a meet-and-greet, hiding his revolver in his napkin. He shot President Kinley which led him being executed in Auburn Correctional Facility's electric chair.
