Leon Von Felden is a major character in the Fallout franchise. Mentioned only in the first and third games, he finally makes an appearance in the Amazon Prime TV series. He was a pre-War scientist and member of West Tek, serving as the head of the Forced Evolutionary Virus Project at the West Tek Research Facility and later the Mariposa Military Base, where he possessed the highest corporate security clearance.
In the TV series, he was portrayed by James Yaegashi, who also voiced Wu Zi Mu in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Yi Suchong in BioShock.
At some point prior to the Great War, Leon was invited to attend a meeting at the Southern California headquarters of the Vault-Tec Corporation in Los Angeles, along with Vault-Tec's Barb Howard and Bud Askins, Big MT's Frederick Sinclair, REPCONN Aerospace's Julia Masters and RobCo Industries' Robert House. He was informed of Vault-Tec's protracted plans to extend their network of Vaults across the nation and heard their offer of selecting some vaults to be used for social experiments at the behest of the corporate heads; while he was skeptical of the Vaults' creation, Von Feldon posited a scenario for a Vault involving developing a race of super-mutant soldiers using illegal immigrants.
The Mariposa Rebellion[]
Later in October of 2077, when the Mariposa Rebellion took place, Von Felden was one of the last scientists to be interrogated after the base's military detachment discovered the experiments with FEV going on there. He was being interrogated on October 23 when halfway through, Mariposa lost contact with the outside world. Without any expectation of bringing the scientist to justice for his crimes, Captain Roger Maxson ordered Von Felden's execution as well, though, at the very least, he also arranged for all the scientists to receive a proper burial, if only to ease his own conscience.
