Leopoldo Fago is a minor antagonist in Lupin III: The Italian Adventure/Lupin III: Part IV. He is the main antagonist for "Requiem for the Assassins".
Appearance[]
Leopoldo Fago is a tall brown-haired man who dons a green coat over a purple shirt and a dark purple necktie.
Biography[]
Leopoldo is introduced having gathered a group of prominent assassins from various locations in a single room. One of the assassins describes Leopoldo as a big shot politician in Italy. Leopoldo has gathered them for a singular objective, one that involves twelve assassins selected for it.
The assassins all got half paid in advance to carry out the assassination of one specific person, Samuel Decale who is the Republic of Dalia's president. The Republic of Dalia, while a small West African nation, Leopoldo calls him one of the evilest dictators in the world.
This task he provides has one obstruction: Zora, a bodyguard he hired, a man who can fire with a Winchester M70. Once Zora is out of the way, the assassination of Samuel Decale will proceed. Decale rarely appeared in public and maintains a promise to visit his hometown within Serimu, a desert oasis, once a year.
Leopoldo then issues the order to track him on the route he uses and off him. While several of the assassins die during the operation, the teen assassin with a blonde bobcut, a young Belladonna, shoots Zora while Goemon bisects Samuel vertically.
After the assassination, Leopoldo makes a speech about how tiring it is for politicians to join with organized crime and claims his intent to end this. He then proclaims himself the future of Italy. Goemon makes note of how easy of a target he is for Zora.
After Belladonna assassinates Zora, she explains that if the truth behind Leopoldo's assassination of Samuel gets out, his career will end abruptly. Just then, Goemon realizes that it really was Belladonna who was behind the series of deaths as per Leopoldo Fago's orders.
Bell claims it was for the future of Italy, but Goemon shoots this down and explains that Leo was just using her. Leopoldo found her on the streets and raised her to be an assassin to target whoever gets in his way.
During the dawn of the next day, Leopoldo restrains Bell in a creepy manner when Goemon approaches his vicinity. He then proceeds to have her beaten up to ensure her loyalty.
After Goemon manages to cut through Leopoldo's guards, he learns that the crooked politician had a bomb planted in her heart and has no issues triggering a detonator to kill her. Leopoldo then tells Goemon to die at her hands if he does not want her to die.
Just then, Belladonna shoots Leopoldo instead and makes an attempt at suicide with the detonator. However, Goemon manages to save Belladonna from being blown up, albeit with a chest injury.
