Lester could be a heel, but that's a lousy way for anyone to go out.
~ Leroy Sabo.
You're very good, Lorna... Nice of you to give me up, sweetheart. All that whispering in my ear. Telling me how we had to get rid of him, how could it could all be, all the money we could claim... All that planning. How to get him into the street, how to make it look like an accident. You had all the bases covered, baby.
~ Leroy Sabo to Lorna Pattison (determinant).

Leroy Sabo is a minor antagonist in the 2011 video game L.A. Noire.

He is the bar owner of Ray's Café who conspired with Lorna Pattison to kill her husband, Lester Pattison, in order to get his life insurance to open a new bar.

He was voiced and motion captured by Jeffrey Vincent Parise, who also played Asmodeus in Supernatural.

Biography[]

Background[]

Leroy Sabo was born in the 1900s and resided in Los Angeles, where he opened a bar named Ray's Café, which started to decline with the poker games keeping it afloat. He became close friends with Lester and Lorna Pattison, regulars of the bar who often got into fights in front of patrons. Often lending a shoulder for Lorna to find comfort, Leroy discussed about becoming business partners with her in opening a new bar. Needing money to start it, Lorna devised a plan to kill Lester to obtain money from his life insurance and to get rid of him.

L.A. Noire[]

One night, Lester gambled away his money and asked Lorna to sleep with one of his competitors, but she refused which resulted in another fight. Leroy came in and stabbed Lester twice outside of the bar, forcing him into the road where he was hit by William Shelton, whom proceeded to drive away after hitting Pattison. Leroy proceeded to throw the knife into a garbage can before taking Lorna home, but the Los Angeles Police Department sent Detectives Cole Phelps and Stefan Bekowsky to investigate. The knife was found by Phelps, but depending on the player, it can found when first searching the area or after visiting the coroner. Though Shelton was arrested, he informed the detectives that he saw a man and a woman outside the cafe, and believed they would take him to the hospital. The detectives then traveled to the Pattison residence, where Sabo lied that Lester walked into the street and watched Lorna's interrogation.

Phelps and Bekowsky were immediately suspicious of the pair, due to Lorna not seeming upset over her husband's death and the coincidence involving it. The detectives left but soon returned after finding evidence that Lester died from two stab wounds, where they confronted Sabo or Lorna. If the knife was found early on, Pattison will betray Sabo to the detectives, and an enraged Leroy kills her before fleeing. He is then either arrested and charged for his crimes, or killed for trying to kill the detectives and resisting arrest.

Trivia[]

  • Like several characters in the game, Sabo has two fates depending on the player's investigation.
