| ~ Lester Turner while trading fire with the police. |
Lester Turner is the secondary antagonist of the Criminal Minds episode "Outlaw". He is a serial killer and thief who goes on a spree of robberies, rapes, and murders with his partner-in-crime, William Duke Mason.
He was portrayed by Stephen Monroe Taylor.
Biography[]
Early life[]
When he was 16, Turner raped a 15-year-old girl while forcing her younger brother to watch, afterwards beating the boy up. He was sentenced to nine years in prison, spending the first two in juvenile detention before being transferred to Texas State Prison. There, he befriended a rapist and murderer named William Duke Mason, who saved him from being killed by another prisoner. The two became inseparable, shooting meth together while Mason told Turner stories of having robbed a diner in which he and his partner Benjamin Wade, who was also incarcerated in Texas State Prison, forced two male employees to watch while they raped two female employees, before finally killing them all and setting the diner on fire.
Both Turner and Wade are both released after five years in prison. They travel on stolen Harley Davidsons to Mason's hometown of Las Vegas, New Mexico, where Mason had committed the murders, and set out to commit another bloodbath.
"Outlaw"[]
In Las Vegas, Turner and Mason rob a diner, where they force two male employees to watch while they rape a female employee before killing all three of them and setting the diner on fire.
The next day, while Mason goes to visit Tammy Mae Vasquez, the mother of his son Cole, Turner gets bored and decides to rob a pharmacy in order to procure more drugs. He murders two employees, a man and a woman, while he is at it, although he does not rape the woman this time. He returns to the motel where he is staying with Mason, who is furious about the robbery, which is being covered by the local news. After a brief argument, they ride off into the desert.
They stop at a gas station, where the clerk recognizes them from the news and calls the police. Turner shoots the clerk dead, and then moves to kill a man and his young son, who are hiding in the corner; Mason stops him, however, aghast at the idea of killing or orphaning a child. A few miles down the road, they get into an argument, during which Mason says he is going his own way to be with Tammy and Cole. Afraid of losing his partner, Turner insults Tammy and says that Cole is probably not his child, provoking Mason to knock him out.
When Turner regains consciousness, he goes after Mason, finding him with Tammy and Cole, whom he has kidnapped. He tries to persuade Mason to leave his family behind, resulting in another violent argument. At that moment, the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), who have been pursuing Turner and Mason, arrive to arrest them, flanked by Las Vegas Sheriff Raul Montoya. Refusing to go back to prison, Turner opens fire on the BAU, forcing Montoya to shoot him dead, followed by Mason moments later.
