~ Lewbert complaining. |
Louis "Lewbert" Sline is the secondary antagonist of The Nickelodeon Sitcom iCarly. He is the mean doorman of Bushwell Plaza, Carly and Freddie's apartment building.
He is also notorious for stealing cookies from small children. He hates it when people come into his lobby, especially children and the iCarly trio. He has a huge wart on his left cheek and a big sore on his foot that according to him, never heals. Many times throughout the series, the characters, mainly the members of iCarly (web show), comment and remark about Lewbert's wart, such as how "gross" or "hairy" it is.
He was portrayed by Jeremy Rowley. He was also portrayed by Joshua Stilley as a child.
Biography[]
His wart is said to be a "stress wart" due to his ex-girlfriend, Marta Trundel, whom made him miserable when they used to date each other, according to Lewbert in iFind Lewbert's Lost Love. However, according to a letter from Lewbert's mom|his mother, Lewbert's wart began growing at the age of twelve.
Although at times he seems to abhor it, for some reason, his preference is having his wart rather than to not. In iHurt Lewbert, Lewbert's wart got exploded off, but he demanded it to be reattached. Lewbert at regular intervals tends to get irritated when too many people are in his lobby at once, especially after he had just recently mopped.
He is a victim (unknowingly) in the iCarly segment Messin' with Lewbert. Lewbert is also a self-proclaimed jerk, frequently misinforming the residents of the complex and starting loud, obnoxious arguments. Along with his hideous wart, Lewbert has a shrill and obnoxiously whiny voice that is frequently used for complaining, screaming, and making little girls cry.
He briefly dated Marissa Benson but they broke up because he acted obnoxious and didn't care when her son Freddie fell down the stairs (on purpose to get her to see Lewbert for his true self). In the episode iFind Lewbert's Lost Love Carly, Sam and Freddie see a Valentine's Day video of Lewbert and Marta from February 14, 1999, marking two weeks of them being together.
Their relationship lasted about five weeks before Marta made Lewbert miserable, so he took her on a cruise, then purposely jumped off the ship, swam to the nearest shore Seattle, changed his last name, took a job as the doorman and has now remained that way for almost ten years. Lewbert was a male model in his younger years. According to iHurt Lewbert, he has a pet lizard and he feeds him live bugs found in the corner of his apartment room. Although it is not proven, it is possible that Lewbert was kind back before he met Marta.
Lewbert returns again in iBeat the Heat. He asks Marissa why she broke up with him, and Marissa reminds him that he yelled at Freddie who fell down the stairs and only cared about dinner reservations rather than for his well-being. Lewbert said they could have gotten married and had a better son. Mrs. Benson gets angry and slaps his wart. It is revealed that Lewbert actually did want to marry Freddie's mom as foreshadowed in iHurt Lewbert.
Lewbert doesn't appear again until iApril Fools, encouraging Mr. Bushwell to proceed with kicking the Shays out of their apartment.
Lewbert then appears in the final episode iGoodbye, in which he looks sicker and worse than usual. He sneezes in Spencer's face, rendering him unable to take Carly to the Father/Daughter dance.
In iObject, Lewbert!, Lewbert sues Carly for his injuries sustained from her former web show, iCarly. Carly is then subpoenaed by Lewbert for emotional distress, wrongful injury, and irreparable loss of wart. She underestimates him as she arrogantly thinks no judge would ever take his side, but just in case it fails, Carly plans to apologize respectfully and genuinely believing that the court case will go away. Spencer offers to represent Carly using his legal knowledge from his three days in law school in an attempt to get the case thrown out.
In the trial, Carly, Freddie, and Spencer meet Lewbert and she proceeds to apologize to him for her past actions. However, he reveals that he is seeking 1 million dollars in damages for the way Carly abused him and left him permanently disfigured. Spencer objects that his injuries were self inflicted. Lewbert reveals that after he quit his job as a doorman, he put himself through law school and currently has a successful law firm for personal injuries, called "Sue with Lew". He calls Freddie to the stand and reveals footage of a cupcake basket exploding in his face. Freddie deflects the blame that it was not his idea. While Lewbert agrees that while it wasn't his fault, he firmly believes it was Carly's as she has him go along with her ideas, such as making her own web show, and pretending to be in a false relationship, much to his sadness.
Adding insult to injury, Lewbert brings in more witnesses such as Guppy Gibson who admits that his older brother, Gibby Gibson didn't always agree with Carly's ideas. Chuck Chambers is his second witness who committed perjury by stating that all of the Shays are evil incarnate, and accuses her of playing mind games when she used to be his tutor. He also accuses Spencer for locking him in a cage squirting "suspicious liquids", and throwing a cupcake at him. Carly brings Marissa Benson to the stand, but it's all for naught when Lewbert flirts with her on the witness stand as they kiss, much to Freddie's disgust.
He reveals that he is not only suing Carly for one million dollars, but also for ownership of iCarly. After a brief recess, Carly and Freddie hear Lewbert laugh and it makes them believe that he faked his injuries. While on the stand, Carly talks about how Lewbert made her who she is today, and regardless of the outcome, this case has little to no impact on her. In a fit of rage, Lewbert has a mental breakdown where he screams, knocks over documents, and rants about his student loans and selling his hair. He reveals that the reason he went to law school was out of spite, and cannot handle that after all those years in law school. After running into Judge Greene's desk, his wart becomes visible. He also sneezes on Spencer once again before running out of the courtroom.
While the judge agrees with Carly that Lewbert is mentally unstable, she still rules in his favor because his behavior was justified due to how she provoked him, and awards him $250,000 for pain and suffering, to which Spencer pays the settlement.
A year later, Marissa proposes to Lewbert and they eventually elope. After this, Lewbert made peace with Carly and Freddie who finally accepted Lewbert as his stepfather.
