Li'l Cinders are minor enemies in the Super Mario Galaxy duology, and also appearing in later 3D releases. They are also known as Lava Bubbles, and seem to be related to their icy counterparts Li'l Brrs.
History[]
Super Mario Galaxy[]
Li'l Cinders are first encountered in the Freezeflame Galaxy. They move by releasing air from their bodies, which propels them forward. If they make contact with Mario/Luigi, they will catch on fire and run uncontrollably. Using a spin attack, Mario/Luigi cools them down, which reduces them to immobile rocks. However, if Mario/Luigi spins them into lava, or they jump into the lava, they will be reanimated. They then later appear in Melty Molten Galaxy.
Super Mario Galaxy 2[]
Li'l Cinders appear as a more common enemy in the second instalment in the franchise. Their attack moves are unchanged, except they are now also able to be produced by Magikoopas. They are found on Freezy Flake Galaxy, Battle Belt Galaxy and Mario Squared Galaxy. In Battle Belt Galaxy, there is a planet solely inhabited by Li'l Cinders.
Physical appearance[]
Li'l Cinders are identical to Li'l Brrs save for the colour variation. They are irregular, tear-drop-like shapes that are dark red at their base and light orange at the top (suggesting the hottest part of them may be at their heads).
Li'l Cinders have white ovular eyes and produce air from their bodies.
