Li Yan is a minor antagonist in the Sonic X anime series and its comic book continuation. He is the leader of the Bruiser Boys gang operating in Oriental City. He came into conflict with Knuckles the Echidna and Hawk over a Chaos Emerald, and swore vengeance on the former after they beat him to it.
He was voiced by Toshihiko Nakajima in Japanese and Ted Lewis in English.

Anime[]
While searching for a Chaos Emerald, Li Yan captured Knuckles' friend Hawk, and later tricked the echidna himself into falling into the same trap. The two friends escaped and continued their search for the gem, leaving Yan empty-handed.
Comic book[]
Li Yan was accepted into S.O.N.I.C.X. by the Organizer. Unlike most of his comrades from the shady organization, he sought vengeance not against Sonic, but against Knuckles, seeking to hurt him by killing his friend.
Trivia[]
- Li Yan and Card Passer are the only major S.O.N.I.C.X. members who were already evil prior to joining the group.
- Li Yan is the only S.O.N.I.C.X. member who seeks vengeance primarily against someone other than Sonic. Hector Dragg doesn't care much about vengeance on anyone, however.
