Liam and Ryan McPoyle are supporting antagonists of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. They are twins in the incestuous McPoyle Family. They are enemies with The Gang, especially Charlie Kelly, after they were arrested because they tried to frame their old gym teacher for molesting them.
Liam was portrayed by Jimmi Simpson, who also played Skip Tyler in White House Down, a younger William in Westworld, Spencer Clay in The Man Who Fell to Earth and Dr. Royce Hemlock in Star Wars: The Bad Batch, while Ryan was portrayed by Nate Mooney, who also portrayed Connor O'Brien in Criminal Minds.
Personalities[]
Throught the show, Liam and Ryan have been shown to be very selfish, easily aroused and homicidal. They have tried to kill The Gang numerous times and have framed many people. They are shown to be greedy and envious towards others and really only care about themselves. It is also implied that they have an incestuous relationship.
Biography[]
In Season 1, Liam and Ryan framed their elementary school gym teacher, Chris Murray for molestation and pedophilia, Charlie finds this out and rats them out after lying to his family about being molested. Soon after, Liam stabbed Charlie with a fork after reuniting with The Gang and tried to murder them during an Eagles game when Frank Reynolds accidentally shot their brother Doyle's leg. They even held them hostage with their deaf and mute sister Margaret until it is revealed that they used rubber guns for revenge.
But finally, Liam tried to break the family bloodline when he tried to married Maureen Ponderosa, which Dennis Reynolds wanted to happen so he would have to pay bills. But eventually it is screwed up by Dee, Frank, and Ryan. Soon after, they try to sue Bill Ponderosa for drugging their family but they fail as Charlie uncovers that their family bird "Royal McPoyle" was the one who made everyone go crazy at the wedding.
