Lightning is a major antagonist in the 2024 science-fiction action film Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, the fourth installment of the Planet of the Apes reboot franchise. He is a high-ranking member of the Coastal Ape Colony. Specifically, Lightning serves as Proximus Caesar's third-in-command and Sylva's right-hand soldier.

He was portrayed by Ras-Samuel Weld A'abzgi.

Personality

Lightning is shown to be a brutal and sadistic enforcer, who's fanatically loyal to Proximus and Sylva. He is shown to enjoy mocking those he sees as beneath him such as primitive humans and Noa.

Biography

Lightning is seen with Sylva during all the movie. During the final battle, Proximus orders him to take Soona in hostage but Mae saves her and kills Lightning with a gun.

• Lightning is the second ape to be killed by a human. The first is Red. The difference is that whereas Red redeems himself as saving Caesar before to be killed by an Alpha Omega's soldier, Lightning remains evil until his death.
