Lily Aquaria is a major character in the anime and manga series Black Clover. She is a former noblewoman, who left to the forsaken realm as a caretaker to orphans in a Church. She is later converted into a Paladin by Lucius Zogratis, who grants her the purified power of the spatial magic devil, Beelzebub.
Appearance[]
Lily is a woman with dark blue hair and quite fair skin. Her bangs cover the majority of her left brow and are slightly split to the right. In addition, she has a black beauty mark beneath her left eye and turquoise eyes rimmed with long lashes.
Lily had on a nun's uniform and a gold beaded necklace with a gold cross. She wears a thicker-fabric habit in a lighter color after having her soul changed. She also has a large, dark-colored belt on, the left side of which hangs her grimoire pouch.
Lily develops two ram-like horns that curl around themselves, two wings, and a halo that emerges above her wings while utilizing purified demon power.
Personality[]
Lily is a compassionate young lady who looks after the little orphans by providing them with cleaning and cooking services. Additionally, she chastises them for misbehaving, especially when Asta asks her to marry him.
As a Paladin, she is under Lucius's control and holds his beliefs. She claims that Asta must die for the sake of world peace and that Lucius will recreate humanity in its true form. She seems to have a strong will as she fights Lucius's will in the Land of the Sun.
Background[]
Growing up in the Noble Realm, Lily is troubled by the magic-based class division she sees there and decides to leave to become a nun in an effort to promote equality in the Clover Kingdom. She does discover a lot of the same prejudice in the church, though. She leaves for the Forsaken Realm to work as a caregiver at the church orphanage in Hage after her prayers for change are not heard.
Powers & Abilities[]
- Water Magic: Lily has a three leaf clover grimoire which allows her to use various water-based spells. She has high mana due to being a former noblewoman
- Spatial Magic: Upon being granted the purified power of the devil Beelzebub. Lily gains the ability to use many spatial magic spells. She usually created space cubes where she negates the mana of her opponents.
