The Lily Carnation is the overarching antagonist of the movie One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island. It is a monstrous flower with the ability to resurrect the deceased, with Baron Omatsuri using it to revive his crew, in exchange for luring other pirates to the island as food.
It was voiced by Misa Watanabe, who also voices EMMA in Persona 5 Strikers, Queen Beryl in Sailor Moon, Rina Mamiya in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Northa in Fresh Pretty Cure!, The Queen in Ico, and Salamandermon in Digimon Ghost Game.
Personality[]
While it initially appears to be a harmless plant like creature assisting Baron Omatsuri, it is in truth a sadistic monster that takes pleasure in the suffering it causes to others as it absorbs the Straw Hats Pirates.
History[]
At some point, the Red Arrow Pirates have arrived near Omatsuri Island, with their captain, Baron Omatsuri as their sole survivor. Omatsuri would discover Lily's powers in hopes of being able to revive his crew in exchange for food by having pirate crews feed it food.
When the Straw Hat Pirates arrived, Lily initially showed that it is a cute and innocent plant as it cheered on the Straw Hat Pirates during the goldfish catching contest. However, this was all a ruse, as it shows its true colors by attempting to consume the Straw Hats. Lily would fight the Straw Hats but would lose its roots in the process. Lily would then transform into its monstrous form after harnessing the powers of the Straw Hat Pirates, but was shot dead by Baron Omatsuri's bow and arrow used by Papa of the Tearoom Pirates, killing it in the process.
Trivia[]
- Its name is a play on the world reincarnation which is similar to how it creates life from the plants it creates.
- The Lily Carnation can be compared to Audrey II from “Little Shop of Horrors” as they are both sadistic plants that manipulate and eat people.
