QuestionMark This article's content is suspiciously like some other page somewhere on the internet.
Darkrai
According to Darkrai, this page is suspicious; very, very suspicious. It's not THAT big a deal that this was probably copied from another wiki, but c'mon, we've got our own style.
This page is likely plagiarized from this one: https://mortalkombat.fandom.com/wiki/Lin_Kuei_Grandmaster
Darkrai says to insert some Original Research at least so it's not a complete plagiarism: or he shall lock you into an eternal nightmare.

The Link Kuei Grand Master makes his first physical appearance in the prequel Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero.

Overview

Original Timeline

The Lin Kuei Grand Master was the leader of the Lin Kuei clan of warriors. He was responsible for assigning missions to the clan's members. He assigned the clan's greatest assassin, Sub-Zero, the mission of recovering the Map of Elements. The grand master made a deal with the sorcerer Quan Chi. In exchange for the Map of Elements, Quan Chi annihilated the Shira Ryu who were rivals of the Lin Kuei. The Shira Ryu's leader, Scorpion, was also killed. The grand master then sent Sub- Zero to recover the amulet of Shinnok. In the end, the amulet was taken away by Quan Chi.

After the unsuccessful mission regarding Shinnok's amulet, Sub-Zero was invited to take part in the Mortal Kombat tournament. The grand master sent Sub-Zero in assassinate Shang Tsung who was the leader of Mortal Kombat. Sub-Zero failed and returned to the Lin Kuei.

After Mortal Kombat took place in Outworld, the grand master decreed that the Lin Kuei should be automated into cyborgs. He saw this as an opportunity to improve the efficiency of the clan. Everyone, except for the grand master and Sub-Zero's younger brother became cyborgs who were immune to human emotions. Sub-Zero's younger brother, Kuai Liang, managed to escape.

During the event of when Shang Tsung and Quan Chi became allies, the grand master was assassinated by his own son Sektor. As the replacement, Sektor became the Lin Kuei's new Grand Master. Sektor's victory was short lived. He was approached by Kuai Liang. The warriors engaged in battle for the title of Grand Master. Kuai Liang won and took over the role as Grand Master of the Lin Kuei. As the new leader, Kuai Liang vowed to turn the Lin Kuei into a force of good.

Rebooted Timeline

The Grand Master was mentioned during the formative days of the Cyber Initiative during the tenth Mortal Kombat tournament. He was killed by Sektor, who claimed leadership of the Lin Kuei and authorized the entire Lin Kuei clan to be cyberized. Sektor was later killed by Kuai Liang, where it is revealed through flashback in Mortal Kombat X that the Grandmaster arranged a deal with Shinnok and Quan Chi to retrieve Shinnok's Amulet in exchange for Quan Chi exterminating the Lin Kuei's rival clan, the Shirai Ryu, and it's leader, Hanzo Hashashi. Sektor rescinded their deal after it was revealed that Quan Chi revived Hashashi as a revenant fighter, known as Scorpion, under his control. Kuai Liang reveals this truth to Hashashi, and the two make peace.
