Biography[]
While walking home from school in disgust of all the pollution happening in the city, a strange book falls in front of Lisa's feet labelled Death Tome. Picking it up and taking a look, she finds it to have rules stating that anybody she writes into it will die in the way written, and she can't kill somebody the same way twice.
At first, Lisa dismisses it as a prank but takes the book anyway. Soon enough, when she witnesses Jailbird threatening to kill a cat on the news, she decides to write that he dies of a heart attack for her own amusement, not expecting it to happen. When it does, she realizes she was responsible. However, acknowledging Snake was a criminal, she begins to consider herself a hero. It is then that the original owner of the death tome appears before her, A shinigami named Steve Johnson, and he tells her that the book belongs to her now and that she would eventually get addicted to murder.
Shortly after, she hears Mr. Burns state his intention to melt the polar icecap, so she decides that she needs to kill him. However, she feels it necessary to have him go out peacefully, so she writes that he dies in his sleep, only for Mr. Burns to fall on the grill and get burned to death in his sleep. Shortly after, Steve reminds her of how many dedicated Globo-Warm employees there are, so she looks them up and gets to work on killing each of them, coming up with a different death each time.
The next day, she finds on the news that her kills are actually reported as murder, and that somebody calling himself L was able to figure out that they were pulled off by a book called a Death Tome. Realizing the threat L poses, Lisa attempts to kill him by writing for him to die, only for Steve to remind her that she needs his actual name. Upon examining the L and recognizing it, she realizes it to be "El Barto". Upon arriving at the alleyway, her older brother Bart reveals himself and admits to having read her diary to figure out her secret. There, Lisa gets ready to write Bart into the death tome, causing Bart to panic.
Seeing him like this, Lisa realizes she let the book corrupt her into a monster. In response, she writes one more victim into the tome. The victim being Steve Johnson which she crushes with a Satelite. With Steve dead, Lisa believes herself to finally be free of the death tome, only to turn into a Shinigami shortly after. With this, Bart suggests that she kill Janey to make herself feel better, Which Lisa then seemingly agreeing with the suggestion.
Trivia[]
- Lisa turning into a Shinigami is likely a reference to the popular fan theory that posits Light becoming a Shinigami himself after dying.
- This is the only villainous Treehouse of Horror version of Lisa Simpson who does not have a split-personality.
- Funnily enough, there was a comic book that parodied Death Note long before the episode was released the difference being that Lisa was in the role of L instead of Bart. Bart was the one who used the Death Note which belonged to Krusty the Clown.
