Little Jacob (born 1982) is the tritagonist of the 2008 video game Grand Theft Auto IV. He is one of Niko Bellic's best friends and is the underboss of the Yardies gang in Liberty City.
He was voiced by Coolie Ranx.
Personality[]
Despite being a drug and guns runner willing to shoot anybody who interferes with his businesses, Little Jacob is one of the genuinely kindest people in the entire Grand Theft Auto franchise, never having a single bad word to say about his friends and getting upset on rare occasions.
Most of the time, Little Jacob is calm and collected due to his affinity for marijuana, even during gunfights where his life is on the line. After the possible death of Roman at the hands of an assassin, Jacob even manages to calm down Niko and stop him from assaulting the dead body any further as he knows it not will do any good and they have to leave before the police arrive.
In the rare instances he gets angry, Jacob allows his accent to take full control of how he talks, becoming almost as unintelligible as Real Badman and significantly more vulgar.
History[]
Past[]
Born in Jamaica in 1982, Little Jacob grew up with his best friend Real Badman and the two of them eventually moved to Liberty City in the United States where they started a gang known as the Yardies, who primarily sold guns, marijuana, and cocaine.
Little Jacob also opened up his own restaurant known as the Homebrew Café to have a place for his friends to hang out and serve as a base of operations for the Yardies. Little Jacob later formed a partnership with Elizabeta Torres and the Spanish Lords. Sometime in 2008, he became good friends with Roman Bellic, the owner of his own taxi company.
Grand Theft Auto IV[]
After arriving in Liberty City to search for someone from his past, Roman gives his cousin Niko Bellic a job as a cab driver and asks him to pick up Little Jacob. Niko and Jacob quickly become good friends on their way to a drug deal where Niko manages to save Jacob in an ambush and later drops off Jacob at his café.
Sometime later, Niko and Jacob go to another drug deal where it again goes south, and Niko murders three of the dealers as they attempt to escape. Little Jacob then tells Niko to go to their hideout where they both wipe out the rest of them in revenge for the attempted ambush.
Niko Bellic later returns to Jacob's house where he's held down on the ground by Real Badman at gunpoint, thinking he's an intruder, and only being saved by Little Jacob who tells Badman the two of them are friends. Badman apologizes for this and Jacob tells Niko to follow a weed dealer who's selling on their territory without giving them a cut of the profits, then take them all out as punishment.
After killing Mikhail Faustin for Dimitri Rascalov, Niko is called by Jacob who informs him that he's meeting Dimitri at a warehouse Jacob knows about and meets him there. After asking for his payment, Niko is surprised to meet one of his former bosses Ray Bulgarin who wants revenge for Niko accidentally ruining one of his jobs in the past, and Niko is suddenly ambushed. Little Jacob helps Niko fight off Bulgarin's men and eventually steal a cop car to escape.
Niko lies low for a while after Bulgarin burns down his home and Roman's office, where he eventually receives a phone call from Elizabeta who asks him to come and settle an argument she's having with Jacob as she can't understand his accent when he's upset. Once he arrives, Elizabeta explains that she was ripped off in a deal with the Angels of Death Motorcycle Club and the Spanish Lords, who stole a large bag filled with cocaine. Niko goes to an abandoned hospital where he kills all the gang members there and narrowly avoids the LCPD. After returning the coke to Little Jacob however, he's also met by his friend/girlfriend "Michelle" who reveals to him she works for the FIB and she had been hoping Niko would recover the drugs so that she could imprison Elizabeta for life.
As he's been working for the United Liberty Paper Contact, Niko is tasked with killing the head of a terrorist cell with a helicopter he had stolen from earlier, and Niko is met by Jacob at the airport who sits in one of the passenger seats with an RPG. Once the target is flying over the ocean, Little Jacob shoots down the other helicopter with surprising accuracy despite being high the entire time.
Much later on, Little Jacob is present at Roman and Patrick McReary's sister Kate's wedding. However, after an ambush from either one of Rascalov's Hitmen or Jimmy Pegorino himself, either Roman or Kate is killed in the ambush.
A Revenger's Tragedy[]
If Roman was killed, Little Jacob uses his underworld connections and eventually finds some of Jimmy's men and calls Niko to have him meet him where Niko then chases the men to an abandoned casino. Niko guns down everyone in his way in search for Jimmy where he discovers Dimitri murdering Jimmy himself. Niko then chases Dimitri until Jacob picks up Niko in a helicopter and the chase continues all the way to Happiness Island where Niko finally kills Dimitri and avenges his cousin. Jacob then tells Niko they have to leave before the authorities arrive.
Out of Commission[]
If Kate was killed instead, Little Jacob will again call Niko after he's already killed Dimitri, but this time to tell him he's spotted some of Jimmy's men and he's joined by Roman. Niko chases Jimmy to Happiness Island where Niko avenges Kate by killing him.
After Grand Theft Auto IV[]
It's unknown as to what happened to Little Jacob afterwards, but according to an easter egg found in Grand Theft Auto V, Little Jacob is still alive and is still good friends with Niko.

- Little Jacob speaks in a Iyaric Jamaican accent, whereas Real Badman speaks in a Patois Jamaican accent, which only Little Jacob can understand without issue.
- Little Jacob gives Niko Bellic his first gun in Liberty City, a Glock-17. Up until that point, Niko had been only using his fists and either a knife or a baseball bat during missions, assuming the player had not been using cheat codes.
- Tied with Patrick McReary, Little Jacob makes the most physical appearances within missions to help Niko fight his enemies.
