Liu Kang is a minor antagonist in Mortal Kombat 1. He's an evil and purely malicious counterpart to the main version of Liu Kang and is an unplayable character in chapter 14 and chapter 15. A version of Dark Liu Kang is a Titan and also the main antagonist of Invasions mode Season 8: The Dark Dragon. A version of Liu Kang who is a member of Titan Havik's Brotherhood of Chaos is a minor antagonist of the DLC, Khaos Reigns.
Like his main and Revenant counterpart in Mortal Kombat 11, he is voiced by Matthew Yang King.
Biography[]
Mortal Kombat 1[]
In Titan Shang Tsung's New Era, he revived his old enemy, and turned Liu Kang into one of his most deadly servants. This Dark Liu Kang joined his master, along with the Dark versions of Kitana, Mileena, Kung Lao, Reptile, Baraka, Li Mei, Tanya and Nitara in attacking his Fire God self's Hourglass to destroy his timeline. In the subsequent battle, Liu Kang was seen fighting Geras, before turning his attention to Titan Raiden. He and Kung Lao confronted the heroic Liu Kang and Kitana, taunting them of their inevitable failure. However, his heroic self and Kitana thwarted them. In the subsequent Battle of Armageddon, evil versions of Liu Kang are members of the Order of Darkness.
Invasions[]
A version of Dark Liu Kang is a Titan and also the main antagonist of Invasions mode Season 8: The Dark Dragon. This version of Liu has been driven mad by seeking out the creation of a "perfect" timeline, having reset reality countless times. He elected to "perfect" other timelines, destroying those he could not. He invaded the New Era with an army of constructs based on the inhabitants of his timeline. After being defeated, Fire God Liu Kang knew his counterpart was not capable of stopping himself, so he and his fellow Titans banded together to cure him of his madness.
Khaos Reigns[]
A version of Liu Kang who is a member of Titan Havik's Brotherhood of Chaos is a minor antagonist of the DLC, Khaos Reigns. After Empress Tanya and her allies had won against several members of the Brotherhood while in Havik's citadel, Khaos Liu Kang leapt down to their level, launching a fire skull at Tanya and Cyrax, which she deflected. He and Khaos Kung Lao fought the two, and they were successfully defeated by Tanya and Cyrax. He would go onto aid Noob Saibot against them, but they were defeated for good.
