“ | Truss: I summon you, oh, dark lord, oh, prince of chaos! (Putin appears). You're not Satan! Putin: He's on a refresher course with Piers Morgan, so he sent yours and truly. Truss: I'm Liz Truss, I made a deal with the devil. Putin: (reading from the contract Truss made with the devil) "Your immortal soul in exchange for vast political power." Truss: Yes, but I didn't realise I'd have to actually do things. I thought I was going to have glamourous, fun power like Michelle Obama or Elsa from Frozen. |

Mary Elizabeth Truss, known as Liz Truss, is a supporting antagonist in Spitting Image.
She was the UK's shortest serving Prime Minister, succeeding Boris Johnson, and subsequently replaced with Rishi Sunak after 50 days in office. During her incumbency, she was satirised in Spitting Image, depicted as an incompetent, unrousing satanist who summons the devil. Prior to her nomination as leader of the Conservative Party and subsequently as Prime Minister, Truss served as Foreign Secretary under Boris Johnson's government.
She was voiced by Jess Robinson.
Physical appearance[]
Truss is given a pale complexion with exaggeratedly angular eyebrows and a sharp jaw shape. She was given medium-length dark blonde hair.
Personality[]
Truss' personality was depicted as bland and incompetent. She fit a stereotype of someone who enjoys tacky home decorations and listens to Taylor Swift (who the real-life Truss is a fan of). She was portrayed as desperate to maintain her power despite the many failings she experienced in government.
Biography[]
Background[]
Truss was the MP for South West Norfolk, elected in 2010 during David Cameron's coalition government with the Liberal Democrats. She was then appointed the role of Foreign Secretary by Boris Johnson. After Johnson's resignation after a string of scandals, Truss was voted by the Conservative Party as leader, making her Prime Minister of the UK.
In the Spitting Image universe, Truss had made a deal with Satan, exchanging her soul for political power.
Spitting Image[]
Truss is seen summoning Satan, but instead is met with Vladimir Putin as Satan is on a holiday with Piers Morgan. Liz reveals she is unhappy with the deal she made to sell her soul for political power as it meant she would have to actually do things, and asks Putin to grant her a wish, exchanging two tickets to the ABBA Revival concert and dinner at Angus Steakhouse so Truss can marry Brad Pitt. Agreeing to the deal, Putin summons Pitt, where Truss asks him to take her to a garden centre to buy a sign that says "It's Gin O'Clock". Pitt offers to do it for her whilst Truss stays to look after his many adoptive children, revealing the devilish twist to the deal.
Truss is later seen in debate with Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab (whom Truss replaced after Raab's bullying inquiry) on how to share Chevening, the stately home traditionally offered to the Foreign Secretary. The pair try to take a mature approach, which instead results in a childish divisional border in Chevening between Raabtown and Trussville. Raab asks Truss to pass him a beer, but Truss applies border controls to Trussville and makes Raab fill out a customs declaration before he can receive it, and refuses to give him a pen.
Truss invites Emmanuel Macron, who was also invited by Raab to spend time with one another. The pair once again argue over who gets to spend time with Macron, who reveals that he only came to Chevening to discuss EU fishing policies. On hearing this, Raab and Truss then fight over who should do so, neither wanting to actually do their job.
