Curtis "Curt" Connors, also known as TheLizard, supporting antagonist in the 2017 animated TV series Marvel's Spider-Man.
Initially, a scientist working for Oscorp Connors uses an unimproved reptilian DNA sample to regrow his missing arm, which results in his transformation into the Lizard. He is later cured by Spider-Man and Spider-Man II (Miles Morales). In season 3, Connors, now an instructor at Horizon High, is manipulated by Norman Osborn and forced to become the Lizard again.
In his Lizard form, Curt Connors transforms into a humanoid reptile characterized by full-body green scales and striking yellow eyes. He typically wears a lab coat, which gives him a distinct appearance, complemented by purple accents that resemble Tron-like designs. In Season 1, he has a semi-obese build, emphasizing his bulkiness. However, by Season 3, his redesign presents him as much thinner, reflecting a more streamlined and agile look. This evolution in his appearance showcases the character’s growth and development throughout the series.

Curt Connors desperately wanted to regain his lost arm, but all his attempts had failed. The turning point came when Norman Osborn made a deal with him: in exchange for helping him transform into the Lizard, Curt would receive the formula he needed. Reluctantly, he accepted the offer. As they were in limbo, a creature resembling a lizard attacked them, and soon after, Spider-Man and Miles Morales arrived to save Osborn from the creature. Doctor Octopus also joined the battle against the Lizard, who was now pursuing Osborn. The heroes worked together to stop the Lizard, but he managed to escape into the sewers. Determined to find a solution, the heroes decided to confront Norman's company to talk to the scientist Curt Connors. However, they soon realized that the Lizard was actually Curt; he explained that he was trying to create a formula to regrow his arm, but the side effects turned him into this monstrous creature. Just then, the Lizard attacked Osborn again. The heroes attempted to subdue him, and Doc Ock came up with the idea of using cold temperatures to incapacitate the Lizard temporarily. They took him to the lab, where Norman Osborn was working on changing him back to Curt Connors. Osborn offered to help Curt regain his arm, but Curt begged him to stop the experiments that turned him into the Lizard. Despite his pleas, Osborn insisted on using the formula, and Curt felt he had no choice but to comply. Norman Osborn was ''attacked'' by the Lizard, and Spider-Man and Miles stepped in to save him. Eventually, Ock revealed that he had a cure for Curt, but it was risky. Despite their doubts, Ock administered the cure, but instead of restoring him to normal, it caused Curt to grow in size, kaiju-like. Now transformed into a giant version of the Lizard, Curt began rampaging through the city. It was up to Spider-Man and Miles to stop him. They knew they had to gather pieces of the scales to make another cure. The chase led to Horizon High, where Spider-Man had to figure out a way to place the new cure on Curt's head. Miraculously, this would shrink him back down and restore him once again to the Curt Connors.
As time passed, Curt Connors found himself back in the clutches of Norman Osborn, now serving as the new bio-mechanical professor after being promised a solution to his Lizard transformation. However, Connors inadvertently released the original Venom during an experiment, leading to chaos as Venom sought revenge. Spider-Man rushed to the scene to rescue Connors and prevent Venom from wreaking havoc. Things took a turn when Venom blackmailed Spider-Man, demanding he unmask in front of the board of education. The pressure resulted in Max getting fired, paving the way for Connors to take over as the interim headmaster until the end of the school term. With this newfound authority, Curt began changing the rules, much to the dismay of the students.
As he delved deeper into the origins of the chaos, Connors discovered that his benefactor was none other than Norman Osborn, who had survived his previous skirmish with Spider-Man and the Hobgoblin. Transformed into the Dark Goblin through a mix of Venom's DNA and Jackal's serum, Osborn had been manipulating Curt all along. Desperate to be free from the Lizard's curse, Curt pleaded with Norman for the cure, believing that he had fulfilled every demand Osborn had made. But in a shocking twist, Osborn revealed that there had never been a cure. The transformation was permanent, and Curt would never return to his human form again. Realizing he had been used as a pawn, anger consumed Curt. In a fit of rage, the Lizard attacked the Dark Goblin. However, after a fierce exchange, he was ultimately overpowered and forced to flee, now an outcast condemned to live the rest of his life as the Lizard, forever separated from his humanity.
