The Gray Man (2022)[]
In the film, Carmichael hires Hansen to find the drive containing the details of his corruption. Hansen does so by kidnapping Donald Fitzroy's niece Claire, in order to force Fitzroy to authorize Six's murder by the extraction team, however, Six got away by killing them. Hansen keeps Fitzroy and Claire in a mansion at Croatia, which also acts as the base of his operation, Hansen then puts a bounty on Six to attract the world's best mercenaries and assassins to kill him.
Laszlo Sosa, Six's contact in Vienna, betrays him upon being aware of the bounty, and Hansen along with his team arrives the scene to kill him. When he arrives he asks Laszlo where Six is, he asks where is his money, but gets shot for refusing to comply, killing Laszlo off-screen. A fight happens when Six kills all of Hansen's agents before confronting Hansen himself. When Six detonates a grenade to kill Lloyd, they both run and as he returns to see that Six survived by jumping out the window. Lloyd then gets shot by Dani with a tranquilizer gun. Six escapes and Hansen decides to increase the bounty, Six would later ally himself with the agent Dani Miranda. Hansen sends his group of assassins to the home of Cahill, which results in her death for an opportunity for Six and Miranda to escape. He then sends more while risking the lives of innocent people out in the public throughout the operation he ran but all of them get killed by Six and Dani, which frustrates him. When they take refuge in a hospital, "Lone Wolf", one of the mercenaries hired by Hansen, stole the drive and brings it to Hansen.
Six and Miranda tracked down Hansen, and while Miranda made a distraction, Six infiltrates the mansion, only to find Claire and the wounded Fitzroy, who sacrifices his life to kill Hansen. Six and Claire escape to safety, while Miranda was defeated by Lone Wolf, however, Lone Wolf decided to give back the drive, as he was disgusted at Hansen's willingness to kill a child and his lack of morals.
In his final stand, Hansen takes Claire hostage and drags to a hedge maze, before having a standoff with Six. During the fight, he almost got the upper hand with his knife but then got overpowered. As Six attempts to kill him by holding him in a chokehold, Hansen gets shot by Suzanne then succumbs to his wounds before Six can do it. His body is last seen at the same fountain and it is revealed that the bullet was pulled out of his chest during autopsy afterwards.
Trivia[]
- Evans starred again with one of the actors/actresses Ana de Armas and would later join each other again in another the following the year.
- The film never clarifies how and why Hansen went psychopathic, though it is possible that he enjoyed his job so much that he became obsessed with murdering people.
- His line "If you wanna make an omelet, you gotta kill some people" is a twist on the phrase, "If you want to make an omelet, you gotta break a few eggs", meaning it is impossible to achieve a goal without making a sacrifice.
