Grandma Lois is the overarching antagonist of the Paranormal Activity franchise.
She is the grandmother of Katie Featherston and Kristi Rey, who sold her bloodline to the demon known as Tobi in return for wealth and fortune.
She was portrayed by Hallie Foote.
Biography[]
Past[]
When she was younger, Lois made a deal with an unnamed demon. The demon promised her wealth in return for a male offspring in her bloodline. Lois formed the Midwives' coven, a cult to worship the demon and further her goals.
Lois eventually had a daughter named Julie, who married a man, and they had two daughters of their own, Katie and Kristi. However, Lois still didn’t have the male offspring she promised to the demon.
Paranormal Activity 3[]
Julie, now divorced and living with her boyfriend Dennis, is visited by Lois. Lois tries to convince her to have more kids (in order to bring forth a son), but Julie decides that she's happy with her daughters and Dennis.
Eventually, Julie's family becomes tormented by the demon, nicknamed "Tobi" by Kristi. The family, fearing for their lives, flee to Lois' house. There, Lois and her cult, seeing no more use for Julie, kill her. Katie is then possessed by Tobi, who violently murders Dennis, while Lois watches, smiling. With Julie and Dennis dead, Lois takes the girls upstairs and tells them to get ready.
Aftermath[]
In the following years, Lois and the Midwives' coven would brainwash Katie and Kristi, causing them to forget the events of the third film and desire a male child, which Kristi would eventually have.
Personality[]
Lois is exceptionally cold-blooded, greedy, and psychopathic, given that she's willing to sacrifice her entire family just to pursue her own desires. She's also incredibly cruel and sadistic, since she killed her own daughter just for not wanting a son, and happily watched as Dennis' spine was broken by Tobi.
