Loki is a member of the Norse God Cyborgs and a major antagonist in the "Yggdrasil" arc of the 1979 Cyborg 009 anime.
He is voiced by Isamu Tanonaka.
Biography[]
Loki schemed to get a Tibetan village to worship them and build a temple for them. They made all the Tibetan parents give up their newborn babies, which they took to a shack where they intended to feed them to wolves. However, the 00 Cyborgs discovered what Loki was planning and saved the babies, giving them back to their mothers and fathers. Loki's wolves then descended upon the village, but the 00 Cyborgs were able to fight them all off. Loki attempted to convince the villagers that the 00 Cyborgs were demons, but the mothers of the children came out and defended them, saying they had returned their children to them. Loki then threw a knife at one of the mothers, but 003 got in the way and took the knife herself. This selfless act convinced the villagers that the 00 Cyborgs were heroes and to stop worshipping the Norse Gods.
Loki dies and is revealed to be a cyborg.
The 00 Cyborgs were eventually able to track down the Norse Gods' base in the Yggdrasil tree. Odin and Loki attempted to lure the cyborgs into a trap by using Freya as bait, but Freya had a change of heart and saved 003 from being stabbed by Odin by taking the blow herself, revealing her and the other Norse Gods to be cyborgs rather than gods. Odin then sent Loki and his robot minions to attack the 00 Cyborgs while Odin fled. Loki attempted to use his fire breath to scorch the cyborgs, but 009 dodged and shot him, killing Loki and causing his skin to melt away and reveal his true cybernetic body underneath.
