Biography[]
What is certain about Agbeth's past is that he had a difficult childhood because he grew up in cruel times and conditions. 566 YSD, in the Day of Fire, the Dark Elves had to leave Irollan and moved underground. However, dwarves also lived here, who did not really like their new neighbors. In 586, a rune high priest, Hangvul, was determined to drive away or exterminate the new neighbors, so he constantly attacked them. Agbeth became very angry when he learned that the dwarves were not only killing dark elves, but also desecrating the altars of their goddes, Malassa. The warlock decided not to let the dwarves wreak further havoc and cruelly punished the high priest. He also visited a seer who said that he might be able to get some useful help from the demons against the dwarves He found a portal that took him to a demon lord, Alastor. The dark elf and the demon made a pact. Agbeth had to bring an artifact, it was the Tome of Destruction, in exchange Alastor gave him a building in which the souls of the captured dwarves went into eternal suffering and turned into demons. The dark elf and the demon both kept their word and gave each other the requested things. Hangvul tried to launch an attack with a large and powerful army, but Agbeth inflicted a crushing defeat on him. The high priest was captured, but Agbeth did not want to kill him, but gave him a fate worse than death. He cut off his left hand and cut out his left eye, because these two body parts were taken by the high priest from the Malassa altars. He then tortured and imprisoned him and wanted to keep him as a slave, then continued the attack. The warlock captured military posts, warrns and two dwarven cities. Agbeth achieved great success, but later Hangvul escaped.
The war continued for 116 years. It ended when King Hathor Deepstrider Orlandsson, the king of the dwarves, finally defeated Agbeth, cut off his head and took it to Hangvul as a gift. After his death, the war ended, but the peace was not complete, as others continued it that Agbeth started, her twin sister Ranleth, took revenge and killed the dwarf king with a poisoned blade.
Personality[]
Agbeth was a very determined, hot-tempered, brusque and cruel person. He almost never showed fear, and even among the most feared members of the dark elves, he had a reputation as a rather cold, ruthless and merciless leader. It is likely that he and her sister Ranleth loved each other, as they protected their people together and his sister also swore revenge after Agbeth's death. Despite his reputation and personality, he was only hostile and destructive to those who wanted to harm his people and him.
