Lord Gyconi is a minor antagonist in the original Transformers series, serving as the main antagonist of the episode "The Gambler". An ally of the Decepticons, he runs brutal gladiator-type wrestling matches in his "Pit of Destruction" on the asteroid Monacus and rigs the contests so he could win his bets and get the profits.
Biography[]
Lord Gyconi accepted Optimus Prime, Inferno, Perceptor and Bumblebee as collateral on a loan of 50 energon chips to Smokescreen and Bosch, on the condition they repay him in one hour as well. Smokescreen lost the money in a bet, and the other Autobots as a result.
Lord Gyconi was later approached by Dirge and Ramjet who accused him of skimming energon profits away from Megatron, which Gyconi denied. He told the Decepticons of a match he set up which pitted the Autobots against his Animalien gladiator. Right before the fight, Gyconi gave Optimus Prime a shot of unstable energon that would make him fight fiercely for a few minutes and then lose power. He tricked the spectators into betting against him, allowing him to win a large sum of energon chips. When Smokescreen created a distraction with his smoke, the spectators took back their profits.
He later joined the Decepticons to escape Monacus aboard Astrotrain with the Autobots as slaves and a stockpile of energon. Smokescreen, Bosch and Devcon managed to rescue the Autobots from them, although Gyconi still escaped with the Decepticons.
