Jesavich Kerrien was from the USSR. He had watched as war had begun and began to become a strong atheist (by denouncing the fact that, with all this hate, bloodshed, and war, God does not exist) and developed his beliefs on society. Unhappy with the current state of society, he had desired to help it by fixing what he sees as problems by any necessary means, even force. However, with no physical or political power over his surroundings or over the communistic government he lives under, Jesavich had no way in trying to "help" society and correct everything he sees as problems (homosexuals, rapists, racists, religion, sexists, transgenders, and criminals, to name a few). In hopes of gaining some kind of power to help society, he moved out of the Soviet Union and to Gaderon on planet Uloff. He then set out to find some kind of power that he could use.

Jesavich was granted limitless, necromantic power, and became one of the darkest beings on the face of Uloff. These words of mine can tear a man apart.. after all, you hate the truth so much that you'd be willing to kill those who speak it.
~ Lord Jesavich

Lord Jesavich Kerrien (otherwise known as Shadow Lord Jesavich) is the main antagonist in the novella/comic series Age of Warscape: Origins, and the MMORPG Age of Warscape. He is a cruel, remorseless, sadistic necromancer who kidnaps and tortures those he targets, and is the leader of a terrorist organization known as the Umbristic State. Using the power of public speaking, usually political speech and hate speech, he has become one of the most feared individuals on the planet of Uloff, especially amoung his target groups, such as religious groups, LGBTQI, pacifists, and activists.

He first appears in the text story Age of Warscape: Origins, as well as its comic adaption. He is also set to appear in the video game Age of Warscape.

History

If you look through history, you will be disgusted on what Humans, Jaar, and all races alike do. All we do is attack and kill eachother, hoping that things turn out okay. You must feel safe knowing that big, strong men are fighting, killing, and inciting violence on your behalf.
~ Lord Jesavich, during a rally in Ironwall.

After a month of wandering through Gaderon, Jesavich stumbles across a tomb that the Jaar were informed to stay away from. Within it, an ancient, necromantic artifact is buried away. The artifact, known as the Book of Shadows, was a cursed book that granted its wielder unlimited necromantic energy. Jesavich broke into the tomb, stole the book, and gained its power. Jesavich was granted limitless, necromantic power, and became one of the darkest beings on the face of Uloff. Now, with ultimate power flowing through his veins, Jesavich had began to further identify the causes of his viewed issues, and quickly adopted the forgotten, but taboo, ideology known as Umbrism. He used this ideology as his solution to society's problems, and began to spread it throughout Uloff. With his powerful and influential voice, Jesavich had grown in supporters. Eventually, he formed a large organization known as the Umbristic State, whose mission is to fix the world by eliminating all of society's issues by use of force and torture.

The Umbristic State grew in both physical and political influence, and began to take over most of Strog'ar and some of Moridahn and Gaderon. The Umbristic State had grown more and more, and had expanded across all of Strog'ar. The threat of the Umbristic State had gained the attention of a smaller faction known as The Coalition, and caused them to plan to prevent the State from growing any further. Jesavich had built his sanctuary, known as Hell's Fire, within the Shadow Ridge, which would act as the State's Base-of-Operations. The Coalition had noticed Jesavich's rapid development, and had begun to siege Strog'ar to prevent him from continuing any further, inacting their plans to stop the State. Jesavich and the Umbristic State battled against the Coalition, but lost due to the numbers and firepower of the Coalition, and the lack in weaponry within the Umbristic State that could outmatch the Coalition. The Coalition had stationed multiple squadrons to prevent Jesavich from rebuilding his armies and getting out of Strog'ar, and had chased most of the State back to the Shadow Ridge. The Coalition then formed a large blockade on Strog'ar, which was intended to prevent the Umbristic State from leaving Strog'ar.

Jesavich, in desperation to remove the Coalition blockade, had debated on how to leave Strog'ar. He had sent two spies to Gaderon to find information on how to lure the Coalition away from him. However, his spies had returned with something else: the plans for a Human strategy known as the Arbiters Initiative, which was meant to segregate and depower all threatening races. Jesavich, offended by the blatant racism of this plan, had dispatched two Jaar agents to the Human territories in Gaderon. The agents had poisoned and killed the Human king, King Ron, to stop the Arbiters Initiative from being unleashed. However, the Humans reacted in a way Jesavich did not predict nor intend: Ron's son, Earnet, had quickly inacted the Arbiters Initiative in belief that the Jaar leader Warlord Bjorin was responsible. The Jaar took this as an act of war, and had formed the 2nd Legion. The two factions had gone to war, and had begun the The Great War; the peak of the Warscape era. However, this plan did not seem to shake the Coalition that much, and the Umbristic State remained locked away in Strog'ar. Jesavich then secluded the State within Hell's Fire, and awaited for a new plan to rid of the Coalition's blockade and resume his plot to fix society.

Appearance

Jesavich's skin is ash-black in colour, making him often mistaken for a Shadow Beast (which earned him his nickname as "Lord of Shadows"). His eyes are luminescent red with black iris, and has black warpaint below his eyes (which is difficult to see, being almost the same colour as his skin. His hair is slightly spiked and pushed back, and is almost the same colour as his skin, making hard to see the difference between his hair and skin. He is also seen to have fanged teeth, and the inside of his mouth has a dull, luminescent red property. He is notably taller than the average Human. His skin also seems to radiate small, black, smoke-like wisps of air, which is unnoticeable from a distance. The air around him also is notably darker.

He wears a dark-grey and purple armour set, which has a purple collared cape attached to it. A notable feature on his armour set is the mettalic, claw-like extensions found on his fingers. His armor provides high resistance against magic attacks, and prevents him from bleeding. It also allows for him to use magic and necromantic powers and abilities without his armour interfering.

Personality

You can shoot me down, but you will never silence me. My words are immortal.
~ Lord Jesavich

Jesavich is a very calm and passionate man. He has fine impulse control, and always remains chalant in almost all circumstances. However, his personality is notably different compared to his remorseless, cruel actions and his hateful, twisted mind, which gives him a personality mask, effectively a façade.

His most powerful feature is, not his necromantic power, but his voice. He known to be very convincing, charismatic, and motivating, and can convince even the most loyal people to Umbrism. He is a powerful speaker, and can easily speak his mind to crowds of people. His charismatic public speaking is much like that of Adolf Hitler's, only a lot more believable, achievable, and motivational. Jesavich's way-of-words to help convey his point also contribute to his how influencial and motivational he is, as his word-choice consists of very professional, yet emotional, words that easily convey his point and aspire loyalty amoung different people.

Target Groups

Lord Jesavich has expressed extreme hate and intolerance for many groups of people, of who he deems as "the cause of the world's problems" or "unnatural". Because of this, these groups are subjected to extreme torture, both physical and mental, in attempts to "correct" their minds. Groups Jesavich targets are:

  • Religious groups, such as Christians, Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, etc.
  • LGBTQI, especially homosexuals and transsexuals
  • Activists, which includes feminists
  • Pacifists
  • Racists, including racist nationalist groups
  • Sexists
  • Pedophiles, Rapists, and the like
  • Communists and Socialists
  • Neo-Nazis
  • Pro-Jaar segregators
  • Anti-Haed'Vishnu groups, mainly those who support Ohm'Brahman

Trivia

  • Lord Jesavich represents political corruption and hatred, as he uses his voice to spread his ideals amoungst millions, which inflicts hatred against certain groups of people and makes Jesavich a more powerful leader. He uses hatred and corruption to get things to go his way, and uses corruption especially to turn the most innocent people into hate-fueled torturers and make his twisted thoughts seem correct.
  • Lord Jesavich's hairstyle is described differently in Age of Warscape: Origins, compared to his artwork. His hair is described to be flatter, and slicked back more in the story. However, in the comic book adaption, his hair is reverted to its appearance in his artwork.
  • Jesavich does not view himself as evil; he just views himself as hated due to him trying to spread the truth and correcting the world's issues. He often declines that his actions are immoral and cruel, and believes that his actions and beliefs are correct.
    • He also has described himself as "misunderstood" and "oppressed by liberals" in Age of Warscape: Origins. Whether or not this is true is unknown.
  • Jesavich bears similarities with Emperor Palpatine.
    • Both used political influence to rise in power.
    • Both wish to overthrow a form of government, then reestablish a new, imperial government. Palpatine, however, accomplished this, unlike Jesavich.
    • Both are extremely powerful beings that head a large army, Palpatine being a Sith Lord, and Jesavich being a Necromancer.
  • Jesavich takes a liking towards the God of Madness, Haed'Vishnu. He respects and admires his power and sheer brutality, and his ability to control the oceans.
