I've taken much from you, Garmadon. I've used your army and your reputation to fleece these backwater morons into doing my bidding, while offering nothing in return! But that's not enough. I will crush you beneath my heels in front of these fools. Only then will the legend of Garmadon end. And the reign of Mogra begin!
~ Lord Mogra to Lord Garmadon.
People of Two Moon Village, Rejoice! For I, Lord Mogra, have restored peace and order to your lives! The treacherous Garmadon has fallen at my hands! Your elders, the ones who hired that villain, have fled like the cravens they are! However... I see now that Two Moon Tea is far too dangerous to leave in the care of such good, simple people. Therefore, to safeguard it from further abuse, the Red Crows shall permanently establish their base of operations here! I have more good news. In honor of this historic day, I have decreed that Two Moon Village will forsake its name and henceforth be recognized as, New Mograton!
~ Lord Mogra to the Two Moon Villagers.

Lord Mogra is the main antagonist of the 2022 comic miniseries Garmadon, which serves as a tie-in to LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.

He is a red skined demon and the leader of the Red Crows who tried take over Ninjago and become its ruler. He is also Garmadon’s arch-nemeis.

History[]

Background[]

Mogra was originally an ally of the Elemental Alliance before having to side with Master Chen and the Serpentine as a means to become king as promised, thus betraying the former. During the war between the Serpentine and the Alliance, a young Garmaddon confronts Mogra for his betrayal as the latter proceeds to mock him and his brother Wu as the two fought one another. Mogra then tries to get Garmadon to join him in hopes of conquering Ninjago together, convincing him to combine his strength with his before Wu brought reinforcements as he manages to overwhelm Mogra and his army. Before he was taken away, Mogra swore to Wu that his victory will be meaningless once the "snake in his garden" will become a serpent, thus foreshadowing Garmadon's transformation and the prophecy of the Great Devourer.

At some point, Lord Mogra returned many years later and took over the Sons of Garmadon after having to break them out from the Kryptarium Prison, thus rebranded them to the "Red Crows", even stealing Garmadon's helmet as a means to get back at him by taking away everything he built. Mogra then came across the Two Moon Village, terrorizing their villagers and forcing them to make Two Moon Tea for him and his group, which they are to gather Glimwillow Wood and Lilies to do so in the process, although the villagers came to him for protection from Kuma and the bears before it backfired. The operation continued until Garmadon came in.

The Terrorization of Two Moon[]

Mogra was first seen back at the Red Crows' base where Ultra Violet reports to him about Garmadon's return and has his army ready to head over to the village. Upon arriving, Mogra spoke with Renzo and Kenzo, the ones in charge of the Two Moon Tea production, and speaks to them about Garmadon's presence, which one of them confirmed fearfully, as Mogra reassures that he'll just leave a "message" to him. Afterwards, Mogra and the Red Crows began terrorizing the village, setting fires to their homes and attacking the villagers left and right before Garmadon and company arrived. Mogra then encounters Garmadon by attacking him from behind and orders Ultra Violet to finish loading the gallons, not before Garmadon jokingly ordered her to find his drumstick, much to Mogra's annoyance.

He then boasts about how he took everything away from him, especially his helmet and his former followers, and how he'll start "the end of Garmadon" and the "reign of Mogra" as the two engage in intense combat, fighting one another. Though as they tire each other due to being on the same equal footing, Garmadon drinks the tea to power himself as he blasts Mogra down, only for the latter to drink the tea as well, bottles of them around his neck, to power himself enough to easily overwhelm Garmadon to the ground and later flew him to the skies. He still asks Garmadon if he remembers him before the former recognized his voice, then proceeds to breathe fire at him as he falls to the ground, believing he is victorious.

Mogra is then seen making a speech to the surviving villagers of Two Moon Village, claiming he has defeated Garmadon in battle and plans to establish his army's base operations here in the village while stating that the Two Moon Tea is far more dangerous to be left in the hands of the villagers after their elders left. He then proceeds to claim the village as his landmark and rename it as "New Mograton", much to the villagers' disdain for him, and later talks to Ultra Violet regarding Garmadon's status. She insists he was "vaporized" in battle, though he warns her not to underestimate Garmadon's abilities and believes if he did, his oni powers won't be of any concern for him without the tea, which there are already gallon barrels loaded, unbeknownst to them is that Saeko managed to fill a bottle of it before she left.

Then at some point, Mogra likely ordered Killow and his men to drive the bears out of the forest, claiming Glimwillow Forest belongs to the Red Crows in order to harvest their lilies and wood. He's then seen back at their new headquarters, discussing his plans to conquer Ninjago with Ultra Violet and Killow at his side, tasking the former to deliver a batch of Two Moon Tea to the Serpentine as a "gift" to coax them out of their current state before his men warned him about an army of bears, led by Garmadon and the others, much to his surprise. He then proceeds to drink the tea to empower himself once more and has his army take down the fighting villagers and bears standing up to his reign.

When his forces began to be taken down easily, Mogra drinks more of the tea to take out Kuma and the rest within the battlefield before having to face Garmadon for the second time. He still insists on taunting him over that he is no match for the latter and believes the fight is over before it begun, not before Garmadon outwitted him by shoving enough Two Moon Tea to his mouth and overdosed him to where his powers became too unstable to handle the tea's effects. Enraged, Mogra proceeds to use himself as a bomb to annihilate all the villagers and the bears, taking them down with him before Garmadon channels his powers within to blast down Mogra in one shot, likely destroying him for good.

However, Kuma, one of the bears, believes Mogra is likely to survive the blast though is reassured by Kenzo and Renzo that they'll fight him again together.
