Louis "Lou" Pappas is the main antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Acceptable Loss". He is a sadistic pimp and sex trafficker who abducts young women from other countries and forces them into prostitution.
He was portrayed by Alon Aboutboul who also portrayed Aamir Barkawi in London Has Fallen.
Biography[]
Louis "Lou" Pappas is a pimp and sex trafficking who runs a trafficking and prostitution business with his son, Michael "Mikey" Pappas. Lou would kidnap young women from foreign countries and and force them into prostitution. It was mentioned how after one prostitute, Vika, was abducted, she was sent to Mexico to be "broken in". He would regularly abuse the prostitutes and have Mikey rape them every night. He tattooed barcodes on their necks and pimped them out to clients. When Vika became pregnant from due to being raped by him, Lou had Mikey take her to get an abortion. When she fled and tried to run away, Lou had her beaten to death, killing both her and her unborn child.
When one prostitute, Pilar, was servicing a client, Jonas Dworkin in the back of a limo when the driver got into an accident. At the hospital, the SVU detectives questioned Pilar and Dworkin, learning that Pilar was a victim of sex trafficking upon seeing a tattoo on her neck. This led to the detectives investigating the ring. Detective Fin Tutuola goes undercover as a driver and meets Anna, one of Lou's victims. When a violent client tears Anna's dress, she returns back to Lou's house, where he furiously scolds her and blames her for what happened. Lou tears her dress off to humiliate her and denies her payment. Mikey suggests he let her make the money back by having sex with him, which Lou allows.
During SVU's investigation, they learn that Lou's trafficking business is connected to a terrorist operation. Lou has been housing a young woman who is actually a terrorist in his home, under the guise of a prostitute so that she can carry out an attack. The involvement of the terrorists complicates SVU's investigation, but they are determined to take Lou down and rescue his victims. They go undercover and are able to rescue Anna and question her. She reveals that Lou and Mikey threatened to kidnap her younger sister from her home country and force her into prostitution if she did not comply with everything they said.
The detectives raid Lou's home, arresting him and Mikey who they take in for questioning. Mikey is reluctant to give up his father, wrongly believing that he loves him, but Lou refers to Mikey as a "fat moron" and is gladly willing to give him up and cut a deal and reveal information about the terrorists to save himself. Not wanting Lou to get off, the detectives investigate the terrorists and learn the truth about the terrorist undercover as a prostitute. They are able to capture her before she can commit the planned attack and both Lou and Mikey are imprisoned.
Personality[]
Lou is a very cruel, sadistic, abusive, misogynistic, and perverted individual who takes pleasure in abusing, degrading, and humiliating the prostitutes he has enslaved. He lacks morals and is an utterly wicked person. He lacks care for anyone else, being perfectly willing to sell out his son to save himself and thought of him as nothing more than a fat loser, using him to help further his own goals. He ruthlessly murdered his own unborn grandchild by having the prostitute carrying them beaten to death.
