Louis is a minor antagonist in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt serving as the secondary antagonist of the Ghosts of the Past side quest. He is a mercenary thug of Arnout Vester and a former companion of Letho of Gulet.
Biography[]
Before meeting Letho, Louis was a wanted bandit in Aedirn for petty crimes since before 1271. Before the assassination of King Foltest, Letho wanted to catch Louis and hand him over for a reward due to regular witcher contracts being hard to come by. Louis was an easy target for Letho to get since he was playing the golden hangman in Hagge and that was before he caught him. e before he caught him. However, when Louis and Letho started talking to each other to be less bored that he quit his guard post, Louis turned out to be a nice conversationalist for Letho and let Louis go.
Some time later the following year Letho and Louis meet again in Velen but this time Letho was a wanted man. Louis supposedly caring for Letho suggested him to hide in the abandoned Reardon manor from the bounty hunters hunting him. Louis did this because he considered the reward for Letho's head very valuable to turn it down and when he told the famous Nilfgaardian bounty hunter Arnout Vester that Letho is the abandoned Reardon manor thinking he will get a lot of money.
Louis hiding in a bandit camp in the central areas of Velen was found by Letho along with another witcher Geralt. Louis in the hall of his camp confronted Letho trying to lie to him that Arnout found out by accident, however Letho did not believe his cheap manipulations which caused a fight between the Witchers and Louis and the bandits from the camp. After the witchers defeated the bandits, Louis was critically wounded during the fight, so Letho approached him telling him that if he told him where Arnout was, he would decide whether to give him the medicine cabinet. To which Louis replied that Arnout was in the village of Lindenvale, after thinking about it Letho decided that he would not give it to him because he had betrayed him by leaving him for dead. Depending on the player's decision, we can leave Louis to his fate which will make him howl with tears or finally finish him off.
