~ Luca trying to sniff out the traitor in the Falcone family |
Luca Falcone is a supporting antagonist in the HBO limited series The Penguin. He is the younger brother and, briefly, successor of Gotham City mob boss Carmine Falcone.
He was portrayed by Scott Cohen, who also portrayed Eddie Newman in Law & Order.
Early life[]
Luca is the younger brother of Gotham City crime boss Carmine Falcone. Unlike his ruthless, calculating brother, however, Luca is considered overly cautious by the Falcone family, making that he been only one of his brother's capos, meanwhile the Carmine's underboss position it is busy by Johnny Viti, who hand most of the Falcone family's day-to-day business and chief associate Oswald "Oz" Cobb runs their lucrative drug racket.
Luca also has a weakness for younger women, having married with two such women before marrying a woman named Tina, who quickly begins an affair with Viti.
When Carmine frames his own daughter, Sofia, for murders he himself committed and has her committed to Arkham State Hospital, Luca joins the rest of the family - except for Sofia's brother, Alberto - in submitting false affidavits to the trial judge claiming that she is mentally ill.
Years later, after Carmine is murdered by The Riddler, Luca is quietly passed over to lead the family in favor of Alberto, even though the latter is an alcoholic and a drug addict.
After Alberto's murder, believed to be at the hands of the Maroni Family, Luca is made boss of the family. However, the rest of the family still view him as weak, and he is desperate to prove himself.
