~ Lucas right before shooting Clint after finding them in their hiding spot. |
Lucas Kumiega is a major antagonist in Welcome to the Game II and the secondary antagonist of Dead Signal.
He is a Polish criminal hired to carry out a hit on Clint, who is searching for the Shadow Web on the Deep Web, and breaks into his apartment to assassinate Clint. He does this by lockpicking his front door and rummaging around his house.
If the player hears this, or looks through the peekhole, they must hide in the closet, or bathroom. Failing to hide from Kumiega will result in Clint being shot by Kumiega, resulting in a Game Over. A Game Over will also occur if the player looks in the peekhole, when Kumiega is approaching the door. Buying a motion sensor is very necessary, so Clint may know when to hide from Kumiega. It is essential that the player turns off the computer. If the player ignores this, some DOS Coin will be stolen, and Kumiega will erase the player's notes.
Turning off the computer and lights will trick Kumiega into thinking the player is not home, cancelling his hunt and saving a lot of time.
He also returns in Dead Signal, this time being hired to kill Ronald and tamper his researches for the Shade. His gameplay is the same, except that now he can also snipe Ronald from the windows, which causes the player to constantly check the windows and hide quickly to avoid being sniped by Lucas.
Appearance[]
Lucas appears as a bald, heavily tattooed man sharply dress in a black suit with a white undershirt, black blazer buttoned up, black slacks with black shoes and a matching tie. He also appears to be wearing matching gloves and is seen armed with a M1911 with a suppressor and speaks in Polish language and accent.
Personality[]
Lucas is very unscrupulous, as he performed treason by selling out secrets to the enemy during his service in the army. He is also very violent and ruthless, evidenced by the fact he performed torture during his service. Apart from this, he is greedy, performing assassinations for money and stealing tons of DOS Coin from Clint if he leaves his computer on. Despite saying that he will pray for Clint in one of his killing animations (suggesting that Lucas has some sense of honor), his actions prove him to be a real jerk. If he finds Clint in his hiding spot, he calls Clint a fool for either peeking or making noise before killing him. Lucas can also be pointlessly mean, as demonstrated by him erasing all of Clint's notes if he leaves the computer on despite having nothing to gain from doing this. Despite his intelligence, Lucas lacks the foresight to check inside the closet or behind the shower curtain in Clint's apartment.
Trivia[]
- His functionality is similar to that of The Kidnapper.
- There's a document explaining his backstory on the player's computer, revealing he's ex-Polish military, a war criminal and an ex-con, with the last one being evident from his tattoos.
- The gun he holds is a M1911 with a suppressor.
- It is possible he was hired by Noir, given how Noir and Kumiega can be in the same room simultaneously.
- This is confirmed in Dead Signal as it is confirmed he is hired by Adam.
- Kumiega is often compared to Agent 47, but Adam Flatau, the series' creator, has denied that the former is based on the latter.
