Lucas Wykes is a major antagonist in the 2017 fantasy light novel and its 2018 manwha & 2025 anime series of the same name, The Beginning After the End. He is the second son of the Wykes family and a student of the Xyrus Academy.
Appearance[]
In his first debut, he dresses an elaborate conjurers and holding a white staff in his arm containing a bright red gem on the top. By the look of his appearance and the equipment he holds, it indicates that he is from a higher noble background and possess a medium blonde hair, covering his ears, trimmed above his dull, light green ambered eyes. He is often to look down everyone with a smirk on his face.
Personality[]
Unlike his lineage, Lucas on the other hand shows a negative aspect that sets him apart from other nobles in the Wykes Lineage for being arrogant, selfish and vain towards others. His defining personalities are cunning, cowardice and use others as a sacrifice around him to survive which stems from his inferiority complex as he is grown to be the hated child in the family. Despite the reputation he holds, he has been spoiled in his whole life and chose to look down on beings who were lesser than himself and refused to be looked down upon as he is prone to his outburst whenever it doesn't go by his way or if he's mocked by his peers.
Biography[]
It is revealed that he is the descendent and the second son of Otis Vayhur Wykes and the brother of Bairon Wykes. However he was the child of a father slave and is looked down and resented upon due to his hideous existence as he is created for the sole purpose of breeding in the Wykes family as they experimented him unethically with elixirs as his father forced him to become an adventure to enhanced his abilities.
Abilities[]
In the chapters in his debute, it is revealed that he is a fire conjurer, which he was awakened at the early age of eight, which was also given multiple exlilirs to accelerate his growth enabling to be in orange light stage and in the later 2 years, reached the Dark Orange core stage.
Fire Elemental: his main attribute elemental is fire especially his well controlled in the environment making more well complex to manipulate the magic.
Fire Cyclone: His manipulation to create a spell making him chant to engulf the flames.
Heatwave Barrier: This kind of fire variation skill helps him use to protect himself from potential dangers in higher levels.
Crescent Ember: This can make him use a conjurer spell to barrage a fire making the flames to slice his opponents to death which is another form of variation skills.
Infernos Rage: another fire variation skill of manipulation is used to prison the enemies by fire surrounding them to entrap his opponent by chanting "Manifest and burn, obey my command and enclose those who stand before me…”.
Hell's Rain: A larger and better but stronger variation in Lucas fire manipulation, made of ember wisps under the influence of Alacryan Runes (or drugs perhaps). This unleashes dozens of flaming fire balls before launching directly at the opponents which the size of the flames can be changed by color indicates the control of the temperature level of the flames.
