Lucifer's avatars.
Lucifer's 666 Avatars are antagonists in the Ghost Rider comics. They are 666 humans that Lucifer possessed after escaping Hell with Ghost Rider.
History[]
When Johnny Blaze died and became the Ghost Rider and became trapped in Hell Johnny kept thinking of ways to escape. Knowing that Blaze would eventually find away out Lucifer tricked Johnny Blaze into bringing him to earth when he escapes.
Lucifer took on a different form in order to escape with Johnny Blaze however once he escaped Lucifer was split into 666 peices and possessed 666 people who just recently died. Johnny had to track down the 666 avatars however each one he killed the power in the avatar that was killed would increase the power of the other fragments in the other avatars. Lucifer wanted Johnny to kill all the avatars so that way when all the powers go to the last avatar so his real form could be complete and at full power on earth.
The first of Lucifer's avatars Johnny Blaze fought and killed was a grandfather who died kidnapped the family of the grandfather. The grandfather possessed by Lucifer brings the kidnapped family to a truck stop where Johnny Blaze just arrived at with a girl named Dixie who helped give a ride there. At the truck stop avatar Lucifer had possessed fills up the van with kidnapped family it with so much gas the gasoline starts pouring on the ground. The avatar of Lucifer enters the gas station to buy some matches then lights up the matches to burn van covered in.gas and the truck stop to the ground.
As he lights up the match in the gas station everyone including Dixie the truck driver who gave Johnny a ride to the gas station all look in fear. But the biggest surprise to Dixie is seeing Johnny Blaze change into the Ghost Rider right before her eyes and how Lucifer knows Johnny's name. While suprised Dixie is in more ah and amazed about what see is seeing before her eyes while everyone else in the gas station runs and hides or leaves. Johnny and Lucifer take the fight outside in the parking lot in their panicked state the family tries to start the van to espace completely unaware of the amount of gas around the van Lucifer the lights up the match right as the van starts up killing himself and the family trapped in the van.
Johnny feels guilty that he couldn't save the family Lucifer comes by in another one of his possessed avatars mocking Johnny Blaze's failure then drives off in another vehicle. Later as Johnny Blaze is fighting Dr. Strange two of Lucifer's possed avatars an elderly couple talk about how busy Blaze is so he will be busy for awhile allowing them to work on their plan.
After his fight with Dr. Strange and Johnny returns back to earth he goes after a bike gang that have been possessed by Lucifer. After killing the bikers Johnny finds another one of Lucifer's avatars to kill it the goes to hunt down the others. As he hunts down the other avatars Blaze finds another one this time Lucifer is drowning people who are getting baptized in a river. Once again Johnny and Lucifer fight each during their fights Johnny keeps having flashbacks of his previous life as they fight.
After the long fight Johnny goes to find more of Lucifer's avatars he finds another dead body possessed by Lucifer this time it is Jack O'Lantern/Steven Levins who just recently died now he is under Lucifer's control. Jack O'Lantern kills a kid and is about to kill another child until Ghost Rider comes along and saves the kid. The two of them fight unable to win Lucifer raises an army of the dead to help him try to defeat Ghost Rider. However as Lucifer prepares his army he is annoyed because they can't do anything right. Johnny Blaze kills Jack O'Lantern possessed by Lucifer with innocent people dying in the process again then Ghost Rider goes to find more of Lucifer's avatars.
Later Johnny finds another one of Lucifer's avatars he has possessed this time it's an airplane pilot. The two fight for along time again leading to more deaths of innocent people that Lucifer keeps putting in harm's way. Before going to hunt down more of Lucifer's possessed avatars Johnny Blaze faces off against the Hulk once the fight is over he goes back to finding Lucifer again.
Sometime passes by after his fight with the Hulk Johnny Blaze meets up with Dixie again taking a break from tracking down Lucifer and spending the night with her at a truck stop. During his break from fighting Lucifer Johnny and Dixie made out and slept together this is revealed in their conversation with each other. Dixie and Johnny mention that they didn't just sleep together and make at just once but this is their second time first time was when they first met and Dixie help to give him a ride the second time was when they met up again at Daniel's Truck Stop. After making out with each other Dixie wants to know what Johnny has been up to the last time they seen each other.
Johnny goes on to tell her about how he has been killing the other avatars of Lucifer. In a flashback story he tells to Dixie Johnny Blaze kills another corpse Lucifer possessed a person named Dr. Edward Falls. As he tells what he has been doing Johnny mentions after around twenty second times of hunting down Lucifer's avatars it has got easier to find them and find out how to kill them. After telling her what he has been up to Dixie agrees to help Johnny Blaze kill Lucifer without him even asking her. She tells him that she believes everyone goes to hell anyway so why not help and why worry about what happens.
As she talks to him Johnny notices one Lucifer's avatars on tv a man named Jack Daniels. He then leaves to go kill Jack Daniels the man Lucifer is possessing he tells Dixie to wait for his return and single she wonders how she is going to call him when he doesn't have a phone. It doesn't take long for Johnny Blaze to find Jack Daniels then the two start fighting. As Ghost Rider and Lucifer fight each other Johnny notices a few more of Lucifer's avatars watching the fight between him and Jack Daniels it's the elder couple Lucifer had possessed earlier. Johnny fights the elder couple under Lucifer's control he kills the old man and keeps the old woman alive to come back and kill her later.
Before leaving the elder woman possessed by Lucifer chained up under a bridge the comic book goes back to Dixie waiting for Johnny at Daniel's Truck Stop. She is approached by the owner of the truck stop who is a creepy rude man he asks if Dixie is a working girl a prostitute. Telling her if she is that she has to leave he doesn't want the cops coming to his truck stop. Dixie let's him know that yes she is prostitute but she currently isn't doing the work he is thinking of she lets him know that she is also a truck driver. He then lets Dixie know that if that's her truck in the parking lot then there's a bad smell coming from it.
Dixie goes to check out the smell during their conversation the owner of Daniel's truck stop is rude to her and creepily flirts with her. As he does this Dixie also gets rude to him for being rude and creepy the owner tells Dixie if she doesn't leave he will call the cops and walks off. Once Dixie opens up the back of her truck and sees one of Lucifer's avatars brain dead in the back of her truck she loses all of her courage and wonders if she can go through with this. Later Johnny just finished up his fight with the elder woman that Lucifer had control over. Then tracks down a coach of a sports team who is under Lucifer's control Ghost Rider is about to kill him when two angels who were secretly following and watching Johnny kill the avatar for him.
After having a conversation with the two angels Johnny grabs the cellphone from the avatar they just killed so he has away to call Dixie. Later Ghost Rider and the angels team up to kill Javk Daniels the avatar Johnny Blaze fought earlier. As they fight Lucifer's avatar Johnny learns that the angels are keeping a secret from him and learns through them that Ghost Rider was original an angel before he became a demon. After learning this secret and killing one of the angels the second one takes his own life. Ghost Rider and Lucifer continue their fight again Johnny kills the avatar of Jack Daniels then goes back to kill the elder woman possessed by Lucifer he left chained under the bridge only to learn the avatar broke free and Lucifer is waiting there for him.
As Johnny faces off against Lucifer's final avatar Dixie is having a few of her problems back at the motel in Daniel's truck stop. The owner called the cops like he said and has returned with them. Dixie panics falling apart not knowing what to do she tells them to go away and come back later once it's all over and the deed is done. The whole time Dixie talks to the cops and the owner of the truck stop fear is heard in.her voice which sounds shaky and cracking. As she tells them to go away and come back then she will tell them everything Dixie fires a warning shot from her gun at them. But because of her fearful state she is in her hand is shaking as she hold and fires the gun because of her shaking hand her warning shot almost hit the truck stop owner and the cops.
Meanwhile Dixie is having trouble with the police Johnny Blaze is still fighting Lucifer's final avatar as this is going down. The cops finally manage to get into the room Dixie is staying in but they ask the owner of the truck to clear out because he is getting in the way and being rude to the officers. They make their way into the room they are suprised to see a body that doesn't look human. Once in the room Dixie is hiding behind the bed the corpse is laying on. Dixie then starts telling the cops the whole story but they find it hard to believe that the body they see before them is Satan.
Dixie speaks to them with a trembling voice as she tells them the police the whole thing despite how scared she is Dixie speaks to them in a respectful polite manner even though she is shaken up. She tells exactly how long it will be when the body starts moving and she has to kill it. The cops don't believe Dixie and think is crazy as well as guilty meanwhile Johnny is still fighting Lucifer's last avatar. Once he kills the avatar Lucifer enters the body in Dixie rented room. As soon as the body moves Dixie and the cops scream in fear among the chaos the police are the only ones who fire their guns Dixie is to scared shot the avata after she agreed to help Johnny kill Lucifer.
While Dixie never fires her gun the cops in their panicked state recklessly shot everywhere in the room. First time they think that got Lucifer and killed him as Dixie backs away trying to leave among the chaos. The body moves again so the cops start randomly shooting everywhere again. By the time the chaos is over Lucifer's last avatar is dead sending him back to Hell. However among the shooting the chief of police was shot in the arm when cops fired aimlessly. They quickly learn that not only did they accidentally shot their chief in the arm but in their panicked state Dixie was killed with Lucifer's avatar. Dixie was slumped over against the wall with a bullet whole right in her chest she was shot making her way to the door Dixie laid against the wall with a sad look on her face about her death as Lucifer's last avatar had a dead lifeless expression on it's face.
Later Johnny Blaze is in church confessing his sins about selling his soul to the devil and how his friend Dixie died helping him fight against Satan and how he had to bury her and it's his fault that she is dead. Believing if he never met her she would have never agreed to help him fight Lucifer and she would still be alive.
