Lucifer Morningstar, otherwise known as Satan or The Dark Lord, is the overarching antagonist of the Archie comics series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. He is the master of all witches and the embodiment of all evil seeking to corrupt all of humanity.

History[]

Eons ago, Lucifer was one of archangels created by God, made to administer divine justice. When God created humans and commanded the angels to bow before them, Lucifer refused, growing angry and jealous, declaring the humanity to be disgusting and imperfect. Eventually, Lucifer started a rebellion against God, which led him to cast Lucifer out of Heaven and banish him to Hell.

Lucifer eventually became the King of Hell, and his angelic form began shifting into that of a beast with a goat-like head and hooves. At some point, he adopted the name "Satan" and was worshipped by witches. After his lover Iola aka Madam Satan lost her faith in Lucifer, she stabbed him with a gem and trapped him in her pendant, overtaking his throne in Hell.

Lucifer is also the father of Jinx Holliday. Now that he has risen back to his place as the Dark Lord, all he truly wanted is for his daughter to serve alongside him. However, Jinx wanted to live her own life, so she trapped Madam Satan as she was planning to summon the Eldritch Terrors to overtake Lucifer in during the Hell On Earth storyline. Jinx's plan was to use Madam Satan as a peace offering, but it's clear that it's not enough for dear old dad.
